My favorite movie
12 April 2001
The classic dark, screw-ball comedy. This movie can tickle a deep-down, morbid funny bone. It gives a deeper meaning to the word chaos. I even believe the tale has stood the test of time, even with the dated remarks (Teddy saying something about that being the end of the Roosevelts in the White House, and the doctor saying "that's what you think" and the fact that Jonathan looked like Boris Karloff.) Whenever someone asks me what my favorite movie is, I often refer back to this one.

answer to poll question
23 May 2000
I chose The Blair Witch Project as the answer to the 5/23/00 daily poll question of what the worst movie to watch before a camping trip would be. However, I believe that The Blair Witch Project would be the worst movie to watch before breathing! I can't understand how anyone was terrified by this movie. The premise was good, and I can understand how a similar situation could be truly frightening. But what truly terrified me was that with an investment of way under $100,000, the movie has made multi-millions of dollars. Even walking in circles in Maryland, you'll come out somewhere that you'd recognize as civilization. I found it very unrealistic and tedious, and it did not stimulate my imagination except to imagine life when the movie ended.

Something Big (1971)
God, I almost forgot this one

I also remember seeing this in the theatre. Dean Martin was pretty cool in this movie, but I remember the best part of the movie was the theme song (by Mark Lindsay), and I had to go out of my way to order a copy of the 45.

Diagnosis Murder (1993–2001)
Nodding to Sci-Fi

I haven't watched this series much, not because I don't think it's good, just because I haven't watched it. (Don't watch ER either, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's a good show.) However, I had to see this particular episode because of the guest cast and the fact that it was billed as a tribute to "The X Files." It was good to see Wil Wheaton, Bill Mumy, Walter Koenig, and George Takei. I really enjoyed it.

The Prisoner (1967–1968)
Number 6's status at abduction

I believe the entire series is incredible. However, he did not "retire" so much as "resign." This is fairly emphatic in the recurring scene of slamming the envelope on the desk, striking the desk with his fist, and storming out of his superior's office.
