Training Day (2001)
Denzel Washington + Butthole = Oscar for Best Actor
28 April 2002
Wow! This is an awesome movie! I saw this movie after Denzel Washington received his Oscar for Best Actor because of this movie so I thought that he must've done a real good job. When I finally saw this movie, I was not only impressed, but also a little shocked. The only movie I can recall seeing him in and remembering how he acted was Remember the Titans, and he didn't even come close to acting like a jerk in that movie. A really awesome cop movie!

3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001)
Keeps getting funnier and funnier!
22 January 2002
My gosh, this is such a good show. I laugh harder at every episode I watch. Why they stopped making new episodes, I'll never in the heck know. French Stewart is probably the funniest person on the show and Kristen Johnston is one of the hottest actresses I've seen. Good show, one of my favorites overall.

When He's Not a Stranger (1989 TV Movie)
An awesome movie to point out reality in schools.
17 December 2001
I first heard of this movie when I saw it in the TV Guide, but I never did see it until last night. I've been wanting to see it because I've seen John Terlesky perform on an episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger" and have been wanting to see a movie with him in it. Well, it turned out to be this one. This movie was awesome and it does point out a few things that are true about reality in schools. Terlesky plays an all-star football player who rapes his girlfriend's childhood friend. Well, nobody, except the rape victim's parents, believe her and they don't want to prosecute Ron Cooper (Terlesky) because of his heroism in college football and the popularity that he has brought to the college. The reality of this is, that people who are popular in high school and college, preferably football players, tend to get away with everything and nobody cares what they do just as long as they bring popularity and joy to the schools, which is most definitely wrong. A great movie to watch and to learn from about what life is possibly like when you cross paths with a football player.

24 (2001–2010)
My new favorite TV show!
20 November 2001
I've been wanting to catch a new TV series from the start, but have never been able to do so until now. 24 is an awesome show about Government agent played by Kiefer Sutherland who's job is to protect a U.S. Senator played by Dennis Haysbert from assassination and in the meantime keeps in touch with his wife, played by Leslie Hope, who's in search of their runaway daughter and a friend. So far, this show is off to a good start. Although, I can't say how many seasons will this be able to go on and won't get very many jobs done since it takes an entire season to finish one and it's very suspensful that sometimes, I just wish they'd get it over with and find out who's behind the assassination and such, but by the time the show comes on, it's fun to watch. A very good show!

Heartwarming and Heartbreaking
21 October 2001
Oh, man! Now if this movie doesn't touch your heart, as I can see from the reviews, it hasn't on some people. Remember the Titans is such a wonderful story. Now, I'm not really up for movies that base it on a true story concerning sports, don't ask me why, but this one is an exception. The acting was good and it just shows how ignorant and closed minded people are when it comes to the human race. If we were all white or black, I'm 110% sure this world would suck. Heck, the funny thing is when the fights happened in this movie, I pretty much rooted for the black people, not saying I'm going against my own race, but... It was such a joy to see everybody finally getting along and it was also heartbreaking towards the end when they lost their star linebacker to a car accident to only have him watch the championship game from his hospital bed to getting killed in another car wreck 10 years later. I've only seen this movie three times, but I guess the old saying third time's the charm is really true because I liked the movie before, but I wasn't really as touched as I was the third time. I think what would have made this movie better is if it took place in the south where the real racial hatred still lingers on today, like in Georgia or Alabama. Also seeing that it takes place in my birthstate of Virginia, and not too far from where my dad lives, in fact, I think my aunt or somebody she knows went to that school around that time, it was totally breathtaking. An awesome movie! Go buy it!

Wow!
25 September 2001
Man, this is one heck of a movie. I like movies where bad guys are the protagonist. When I first got this movie, I didn't quite like it because there wasn't much of a challenge to it. The only times I've seen Mel Gibson get it for him was when he was shot, when the Chinese thugs nearly killed him, and the beating he got at the end. I was thinking "man what a waste of money" but then I felt that I should watch it again, and I liked it better that time to the time I last saw it. Awesome movie for Mel Gibson! Lucy Liu was pretty hot in this movie as well. You may not like this movie at first, but if you see it again, I assure you, you'll like it the second time.

Definitely a movie to watch during this time.
25 September 2001
Man, after these terrorist attacks on America, this is definitely a movie to watch. I've had this movie long before the attacks, but I saw it yesterday for the first time since the attacks and I felt so excited watching it. This is a great movie. Although it is kind of boring watching it during the middle after the hijackers take off again in the airplane, it's a good movie overall. I'm a huge fan of Chuck Norris and this is one of my all-time favorites from him (Silent Rage is the best, in my opinion, but this movie is so close). Thing is, I agree about the comment that only one American dies? Good gosh, we're not THAT good. It's not like most of us are immortal or anything. Not too many good guys died overall anyways, just a member of the Navy, an Israeli Rabbi, and a member of the Delta force. Despite these facts, this is an awesome movie. If you like Chuck Norris and his Special Ops type movies, then here's one for ya.

Big Daddy (1999)
10/10
My all time favorite!
23 September 2001
Okay, I know that in my other reviews, I've classified some movies as my all time favorite, but this is the ultimate truth. Big Daddy is in a three-way tie for first place of my favorite movies along with Young Guns and Silent Rage. Adam Sandler plays a lazy lowlife who adopts a kid illegally by portraying as his roommate, to try and get his girlfriend back. Well, his girlfriend leaves him for an older man and Adam Sandler has to take care of the kid, which he grows to love. Even though this movie isn't what you really expect from an Adam Sandler movie, which is basically laughs 24-7, it was an awesome movie. Rob Schneider had a funny role as an uneducated delivery guy and Leslie Mann as the 'Hooters' chick whom basically is made fun of. The soundtrack to this movie is awesome too, although I'm not in it for bands like Limp Bizkit, their song was one of the best. A good movie overall!

Scary Movie 2 (2001)
DEFINITELY better than the original!
18 July 2001
Scary Movie got me into liking the Wayans brother, but Scary Movie 2 is definitely better than the first. If you saw this movie the first day it came out at 2:40 P.M. up in Fairfax, Virginia then you'd agree with me because everyone that was in the theatre was laughing their butts off during the movie, including me. Heck, the first ten minutes kept me laughing although I'm not much on preachers swearing and not living the Christian life (I'm a very spiritual person), I don't even care if they try to do it just to make an audience laugh, but other than that, hey, the movie was excellent. I may sound this way, because I'm easily amused, but I really loved this movie. Not only do they make fun of movies, but also the Presidential Election recount and Firestone tires and I believe they had every right to. If Al Gore hadn'tve been such a winey-baby, there would be no need for this, but he was, and Scary Movie 2 made fun of it. I recommend this movie to anybody who likes the Wayans brothers and likes comedy. Trust me, you'll get your money's worth on this movie.

Scary Movie (2000)
My Favorite Scary Movie!
15 May 2001
And my favorite scary movie is.......SCARY MOVIE! This was an awesome movie. The Wayans brothers were so awesome in writing a funny movie about horror movies, like Scream, Halloween, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Sixth Sense, and The Matrix. There isn't much of a story to this movie because it somewhat changes, like Cindy having a man's boy at the beginning, but the heck with that. All this movie is about is making fun of horror movies. This is a real good movie for anyone who loves horror and comedy.

Reporting live from Imdb, white folks are dead and I'm getting the heck out of here.

Sweet!
5 April 2001
This movie was a sweet and exciting one. I had a dream of becoming a meteorologist and storm chaser (those plans have changed to being a DJ, but there's still that longing feeling for a storm chaser) before I saw this movie and when I saw it, it was awesome! Sure, it wasn't really realistic in some parts and there wasn't a plot, but who gives a darn? The movie was exciting enough. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is like Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park, which means that he was hilarious, especially when he acted psycho around Bill's girlfriend. Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton were good, but I wish they'd put someone in place of Cary Elwes. Even though I've only seen him in two movies (this one and The Chase), just watching this movie made me experience his annoying voice. I know it's wrong for me to say it because he can't help it, but just ,uhh. Overall, an awesome movie! I get excited everytime I watch it. A good movie for storm lovers.

An awesome film!
16 January 2001
This film is one of the better quality animes I've seen in quite awhile. The animation was awesome, the voice-acting was great, and I loved the story. I'm not going to go into what the movie was about, (I'll let you find that out for yourself =) but I will however add one comment, and that is even if you're not interested in anime, this one's still worth checking out.

What is popular is not always right, what is right is not always popular
16 January 2001
The line what is popular is not always right, what is right is not always popular goes very well with this movie. Chuck Norris played a cop who doesn't care what his fellow cops think of him, when he noticed a fellow cop shoot an unarmed teenager and then put a gun in his hand, he breaks the code of silence and goes against him! And what does he get? No cop helps him after that and he is a one-man army going against two drug lords at war with each other. Tony Luna (Mike Genovese) starts the war by killing several of drug rival Luis Comacho's (Henry Silva) men and Comacho, in return, kills all of Luna's family except for his daughter Diana (Molly Hagen). Eddie Cusack (Norris) tries to protect Diana, but she is kidnapped by the Comachos when they kill Cusack's friend, who was watching over her.

This is a very good movie, one of Chuck Norris's best. It teaches a good lesson about doing what is right, even if it makes others think less of you! I give this movie four stars.

Platoon (1986)
Very emotional!
31 December 2000
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was very emotional! Tom Berenger played a very cruel character with no heart. I was so glad when Charlie Sheen put a bullet in him, not saying that I don't like Tom Berenger, I just can't stand someone who's so mean and kills his own man and even women and children who haven't done a thing. I felt so sorry for the women and children who were torchered in the movie when yet they haven't done a darn thing. If this movie did take a real part in the Vietnam War, I'd say then this is why we lost, because we fought ourselves and let the enemy kick our butts. A real good movie!

The best movie of all!
24 November 2000
This, in my opinion, is the best movie of all. If I filled out the question Favorite Movie in my senior survey for the high school annual, this movie would be it. Emilio Estevez is great at the part of Billy the Kid and there's a lot of action and gunfights in it. Estevez also brings in some humor in the movie. Brian Keith did good in his role as the old man who guns down Charlie Sheen and he probably had the funniest part in the movie. Just imagine being so calm in shooting at 6 guys who are armed as well. I felt such excitement at the end when Estevez jumped out of the chest where he was hiding in and shooting like a maniac at the corrupt lawmen. All six characters, with the exception of lean, calm Charlie Sheen, live up to the tagline on the cover of the movie; Six reasons why the West was wild. Casey Seizmasko plays a good role as one of the childish of the Regulators, but then makes an awesome change at the end. I really don't like westerns, but I like historic movies, and this one is the best of them all, and the best overall. I recommend this movie to anyone.

One of the best sequels.
23 November 2000
This is probably the best Friday the 13th movie I've seen, if not part 6. It changes the storyline a bit, but Jason's still in this one so it's cool! We see that he is risen from the dead after a powerline underwater is snapped by an anchor and Jason kills the two teens on the boat where the anchor came from and then catches a ride on another boat only this one full of a senior class who's heading to New York for their senior trip. It has some laughs to it, like when Jason notices the hockey mask on a sign and when he's ready to be bumped off by a gang but instead he lifts up his mask and scares the daylights out of them (I wonder why he didn't do that with some of the others if he just killed them all). The only thing I don't like is the hottest chick I've seen in all the Friday the 13th films (Tamara) had to die in this one. Doesn't Jason have any love interests? Guess not! Overall, this is the best Friday the 13th film.

The worst with Jason, but still good!
23 November 2000
This movie is the worst with Jason in it, but still good! Of course, the only Friday the 13th movie I haven't seen yet is Jason Goes To Hell, so until I do, this movie is the worst with Jason. Reason why is the female character matches up with Jason, and that's not supposed to happen. In all the other movies, most of the heroines grab objects they can find, in this one she just stands there and uses her telekenetic powers to kill Jason. I like this one though because I love Friday the 13th overall and this one had a cool ending too when Tina brought her dead father alive and he wrapped Jason in chains and brought him back underwater, how he died, I do not know considering the fact that Jason was a zombie and he was pretty much alive at the end of part 6. This may have been the worst of the Jason movies, but it was still cool.

It's hard to decide!
23 November 2000
It's hard to decide which of the Friday the 13th movies was best, this one or part 8. This was my first Friday the 13th movie to catch a glimpse of and it scared me some, of course, I was a young kid back then. Tommy Jarvis is so into destroying Jason's body that he and a friend dig up his body and Tommy stabs the corpse with a fence post and lightning strikes it and Jason is revived. It had some great action in it and some good humor. Also, the surviving chick in this movie is actually hot, unlike the others with the exception of parts 3 and 7 when some ugly hoe would kill Jason. It was exciting from beginning to end and for all of you who believe that Friday the 13th sequels stink, here's a good one for ya.

Good and bad!
23 November 2000
This movie is the worst of all the Friday the 13th movies because Jason's not in it, but it's good because it tell us what happens after Tommy kills Jason in part 4. He is sent to a youth mental hospital to receive some medication and help. While he's there a patient at the hospital is killed by another patient and the dead boy's father who drives the ambulance goes crazy and uses Jason's M.O. to kill the other patients. The deaths in this movie are very extraordinary too, especially that one girl who gets her eyes gouged out. That part is sickening and I have to turn my head whenever I see the part of when her boyfriend turns her body over and discovers that she has no eyes. Ugh! Despite all that, it's still a good movie.

A pretty good sequel.
23 November 2000
This is a pretty good sequel. Jason is not dead and he comes to in a hospital and kills two people at the morgue and escapes to continue on to his home area. The only thing I don't get in these types of movies is why all the party teenagers living in one house. That's not usual. Are they gonna have a huge orgy or something? Other than that, I like this series and I like this film.

The best Chuck Norris movie ever!
23 November 2000
Warning: Spoilers
This, in my opinion, is the best Chuck Norris movie ever made. It has a lot of action, Chuck Norris in his usual position, and an invincible psychopath made by three doctors, one who's behind it and another one who's trying to let the killer rest in peace. What's probably best about this movie is the drum beats during some parts and the music during the credits, gosh, I love that music. It also has a cool ending from the time Chuck Norris shoots the psychopath out of the window of the institute to the very end when the psycho emerges from the waters of the well. It's a shame they haven't made a sequel like I thought they would. Without a sequel, the story is unfinished. They should make another one. This movie is da Chuck Norris bomb. I recommend it to everyone.

Probably the worst of the first four, but still good!
23 November 2000
This movie is probably the worst of the first four, but it still rocks. This is the one where Jason gets his hockey mask. Although it was easy to guess in this movie (especially Shelly knowing that he was going to die and nobody would believe that he was actually dead), it was pretty interesting. I liked this one.

Like mother, like son!
23 November 2000
I think this movie is good because it's the real start of the real killer in Friday the 13th. I also like this and parts 3 and 4 because these are the movies where Jason actually acts like he's human rather than a zombie like in the later movies. And what's cool is Jason actually has a different disguise rather than the ol' hockey mask. What's stupid was that he actually fell for the trick believing that Ginny was his mother and yet his mother's death was the reason why he was killing all those people. Of course, then again, he was retarded, so maybe that's the reason why, I guess I'll never know. A real good start on the Jason movies.

Here's where it starts!
23 November 2000
Well, here's where the greatest horror series of all time starts. It's a shame I saw some of the sequels first before this one, but it's all cool! Two camp counselors go off and have sex and a retarded boy drowns in the lake and this gets the mother mad and she kills the two counselors and the camp closes until a guy opens it back up and the mother of the boy gets mad and kills all the counselors except one who chops her head off. I liked this one because it's what started the greatest horror movies (yes, I'm saying all the sequels are good, so if you don't like it, then deal with it). A great horror movie!

Here we go!
22 November 2000
All right! Finally another good Halloween movie that's not in the middle. I liked this one! I saw this movie in theatres and it just scared me at the beginning with Marion and the two teenage boys (which I've never been really scared in any horror movie other than the original). It also has some great action in it, and Jamie Lee Curtis is back. The only thing that stunk was that Donald Pleasance died too early and couldn't return in his role as Dr. Loomis, but the cool thing was that that gave Laurie a chance to face Michael on her own, which is pretty usual for horror movies. Like I said in my Halloween review, I'd tie this movie for first place with the original.
