Kamchatka (2002)
Again
Marcelo Piñeyro reveals all his quality in this touching story. Darin and Roth are a couple that have to escape from the dictatorship from Argentina, and in this run they must leave all their lives back. Who most suffer this lost are their childrens. The film is touching and emotive. The two child are excellente!!!
Un oso rojo (2002)
A good movie
What can I say about a film from one of the best filmmaker of the last decade in Argentina? The answer is: ALL. Caetano is a master, but in Un oso rojo only shows that he can manage a cinematogrephic language in an easy way, and that he can build an story with only two or three good ideas. Chavez is like Al Pacino, or better, like Beat Kitano: he goal one of the best interpretation of the argentinian history. A must see for thriller fans.
Matanza (2002)
A must be
Argentina must be (in the idea of our parents) a lovely place where we can live. But this is a lie, Argentina is the earth of margination, poverty and desesperation. Battle, Delgado, Penelas and Menéndez filmed in 4 years a must be documental about a family who lives in La Matanza, a neighborhood near Buenos Aires, where a group of people became an slow transformation. The poor tech soport does not mather. If you like to see the raw reality you MUST SEE Matanza!
Bonanza (En vías de extinción) (2001)
Archeologist failed movie
Ulises Rossel want to show the personality of a border man, but he only show the funniest side of the poberty. Violence is less important than ideologist violence. See it and then comment it!!!
Javi y Lucy (2001)
great
It is a bizarre serial about an old woman kicking a boy. Look and then laugh! It is great! I have seen El milagro de P. Tinto and I think that Javier Fesser is a genious!
Taxi, un encuentro (2001)
A very good film
"Taxi, an encounter" marks debut of Gabriela David in the direction, and this is very favorable for the national cinematography by two things. First, she is a woman and the women are filming every day in Argentina at the same level of risk that the men, as much in production as in content. Secondly because David has talent. The film is not pretensiosa, remains in single a subject, the solitude, and the protagonist is a solitaire that handles a robbed taxi by the nights of Buenos Aires. The plot is not the most important subject, but trasfondo of urban desolation is it; and David portrays it wonderfully. You must not wait for a jewel, but it is not going to disappoint if you wait for a good film. In addition it counts on the solid performance of Diego Peretti, who consolidates like one of the most promissory actors than they exceed the 30 and they do not have gained fame. The rest of the extreme distribution to mediocre with good performances. The camera registers the night of Buenos Aires with an austere registry, without great conflicts but that the daily one of a "tachero", passing by humble districts, wild char them without passing by the ticket office of the psychologist, a roundtrip by the mind of " an unemployed " young person of the criminal heading that suffers daily, and that Gabriela David films it wonderfully. I liked the film and I recommend it for one Sunday to afternoon, when the sun falls and the spirit does not need nor a false comedy that raises the spirit to us nor of a melodrama that ruins to us just a short time the more but of rest that we have left. Zhantai (2000)
Excelent
I am from Argentina, so is difficult to me to express, but the film is a beautiful master piece about the history of China. The view of a group of a cultural actors is perfect, because they first work as actors that like Mao, but then they make breakdance...
Small Soldiers (1998)
Perfect
I am from Argentina, so we can not produce this kind of films, but it is gorgous! I expected a film for children, hovewer I have seen a comical and very clever film.
