A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
No Kubrick, no Spielberg: what a dissapointment!
No wonder that it took Kubrick so long before deciding to make this film: the idea for the story is quite original, a modern-time Pinocchio, but the story itself lacks coherence.
Even in the 145 minutes that it takes Spielberg to round it up, it leaves me unsatisfied and wondering: - seriously damaged by a bite of spinache but unharmed by submerging in water? - William Hurt recreates his son but doesn't monitor his wellbeing? And where did he go suddenly? - what happens to Jude Law? - Teddy took the hair?????????? - Timepath and all, but an exeption for one day?
And there is more just unbelievable stuff.
Well filmed. But that is just craftmanship, no art.
6 out of 10
Frequent Flyer (1996)
very mediocre
Even an airline-pilot gets his normal days off and vacations. And it's a very old story and not very original retold. Bigamy is bad and in the end you wind up with empty hands. Well well. Watch this only when you have nothing better to do with your time.
Body of Evidence (1992)
a steamy thriller (says the BBC)
And that's what it is. And I like trial-movies. And it's not a crime to like seeing Madonna in the nude! The actor's performance is worth while watching. You know from the beginning that there will be a surprise ending, that keeps you watching and that's what you're getting.Watch it alone when you're still up late. Or together for some ideas to improve a dull relationship.
Stepfather III (1992)
one of the worst films I've ever seen
The only reason that i kept watching was that it is a ridiculous bad film! The only thing horrible was the camera-work! And maybe the unbelievable story. Or the over the top acting. I kept laughing in disbelief over so much stupidity!Watch this only as an example how to do things the bad way in movie-making. Or it is just a waste of your time.
Being John Malkovich (1999)
Clever script made into a well acted, very funny movie.
The possibility to see the world through someone elses eyes is something we all dream about at least once. How would that happen? Well in this movie you just enter a secret door in an office (a very strange office), slide through a muddy tunnel and there you are! Looking through the eyes of John Malkovich, the famous actor. The script is very clever and very funny; unbelievable but very real. I enjoyed it every second!!
North by Northwest (1959)
classic masterpiece
This one keeps its power so well on tv. So many scenes are Hitchcock originals and copied by so many directors in later years. If you have a chance to see it on a big screen: go.... !You won't miss all those years of technical development and computers.Seeing is believing!
