A family torn about the possiblities of a gay child.
1 November 1998
This film was touching. It will make people question their beliefs and raises a lot of moral questions. The casting was very well choosen. Bredan Fraser does a wonderful job of playing a gay man torn over his families dilemma of having another gay child. It is a far stretch from his boy next door image. It shows his ability to portray a wide variety of characters. His sister, played by Jennifer Beals, is pregnant with a child that may possibly be gay. Her and her husband find out, through genetic testing, that their unborn child may grow up to be gay. Her family tries to help her decide if she should keep the child. Since David ( Fraser) is gay he causes his family to deal with the issue in a way they are not prepared to do. His family does not want to make this child suffer as David has. It will make you question yourself as to if there are somethings better off not to know. For instance is genetic testing for such things right and what would you do in that situation? I think this movie is worth watching.

George is jungle king and will stop at nothing (except trees) to protect his jungle and his friends.
23 October 1998
George of the Jungle is a feel good movie. It has some suspense but mostly is a comical, romantic film. Casting Brendan Fraser was a good choice. He was entertaining and believable. Although the movie had some corny scenes, for the most part it was a good family film. It was enjoyable for both kids and adults. The casting of George of the Jungle was a good choice. Each actor seemed to play well off each other and timing was right on the mark. Although the effects in the film were not always believable it was easy to overlook them. The movie had a very entertaining quality. It was endearing and sincere. I think for most people it reminded us of our childhood and growing up with the cartoon. Brendan Fraser never strayed from the quality that makes George seem naieve and genuine. Leslie Mann made her character sweet but not fraile. Her charm made her character likeable and easy to cheer on in her struggle to help George. All in all it was a good movie and definitely one I would recommend.

Darkly is torn between his beliefs and his lust.
23 October 1998
In this film, Bredan Fraser shows he can strech to many different roles. It is quite a change from his sweet, the boy next door characters. Drakly is a disturbed young man who loses his parents, who raised him with stict religeous beliefs. He meets Callie, played by Ashley Judd. Soon he starts to fall for her but is torn by his religous belief. As he starts to lose all traces of sanity you feel compassion and fear for him. Altough the film opens many questions, in the end they are answered. When Darkly really starts to lose his mind you begin to fear him. In the end you almost feel sorry for him and realize the effect he really had on Callie and you begin to feel sorry for all the characters involved. This is not a typical Bredan Fraser film, and if you enjoy suspense I would definitely recommend this film.
