Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Another piece of dismal trash from ex-Disney hack Tim Burton
Who but Tim Burton could take brilliant actors like Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder, Vincent Price and Alan Arkin, combine them with what should be a great concept and come out with this piece of sickening tripe? If the lifeless sets don't nauseate you, the saccharine musical score surely will.
Finding Graceland (1998)
By movie's end I believed in Elvis all over again.
A touching movie despite its occasional tendency to melodrama. Keitel is brilliant as a deluded Elvis impersonator -- or is he really Elvis? Bridget Fonda is a convincing Marilyn Monroe impersonator. Johnathon Schaech does a competent job as a stunningly good looking former med student whose life has been derailed by a tragedy. The '59 Caddy convertible is even better looking than Schaech -- what a car! The story really is complete but not immediately obvious -- you might want to watch it a couple of times. A must see if you're a fan of "The King" and if you're not, you may be by the closing credits. Long live The King!
Spike of Bensonhurst (1988)
Never before have so many been so insulted by such garbage
The Italian-American anti-defamation league should buy up all copies of this movie and burn them. The only ethnic group made out to be stupider than the Italians in this movie are the Puerto Ricans -- FALN take note. Compared to this movie, "Amos & Andy" is a course in sensitivity training. A lot of money was spent on production for this flick -- too bad they couldn't afford a director who isn't bigoted
