A Quiet Gem!
2 June 2001
I finally found this movie on video and enjoyed it immensely. I think the other reviewers are missing the point of this movie. They criticize the scene where the killer replaces a dummy of himself in the detective's office and no one notices the difference. This scene to me displays the imagination of the director, who went on to do "The Armored Car Robbery" and the original "Narrow Margin". These B movies are designed for entertainment, not for realism and beat the pants off of most of the junk put out today. So sit back and enjoy the ride!

Still the scariest movie ever
11 December 2000
I just recently watched the 25th anniversary edition of Black Christmas and realized that after seeing it again all these years later that it still sends chills down my spine. This movie was made three years before "Hallowe'en" and is even more exciting than it's more famous counterpart.

The young cast of Margot Kidder, Keir Dullea and Olivia Hussey are terrific as a group of students terrorized on campus by a mysterious killer. Although this has been done to death nowadays by "Scream", "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and all of the other slasher films, none of them come close to having the impact of this one. The ending guarantees that you will not soon forget "Black Christmas".

A hidden gem in the Thin Man vein!
27 July 2000
This minor entry in the Universal Studios canon has mystery, comedy and romance in the Thin Man vein. After a murder in a Chinatown cafe, ex-policeman and Chinatown tour guide Ted Lacey decides to investigate in spite of the objections of his former sergeant. The mysterious Woman in Black, Chinese communists and a missing $70,000 is not going to deter our hero from discovering the real killer. A pity that there aren't more unknown gems like this one around.

The supreme swashbuckler!
23 February 1999
Boasting a superb cast, beautiful Technicolor and a terrific Eric Korngold score, The Adventures of Robin Hood became the adventure films against which all others had to measure up to. A must-see for lovers of adventure everywhere!
