An event unlike anything I've experienced
amir_199317 June 2019
Béla Tarr's sociopolitical event in Vienna about the homeless or "Missing People". The big question is "Why are they homeless when they live in one of the most wealthy cities in the world?" and it raises the bigger question, why are people inadequate in their own world? The world is obviously designed to maintain a certain social class. We witness the "Missing People" reveal themselves in a montage esque fashion, to perhaps show their worthy or unworthyness, depending on the viewers ideological values.

This event was a majestic one if you understand what a director like Béla Tarr wants to emphasize. The event was filmed and shown in the same location, so obviously the exclusivity of a screening that will only exist then and there adds to the atmosphere. After the screening, the screen goes up and another room is revealed, there we can order drinks while listening to a angelic woman playing accordion music in the style of Mihály Vig and watching the faces of the "Missing People". Out of nowhere Béla Tarr shows up and greets the guests.
