Exclusive: Another pilot has vanished into the Bermuda Triangle after ABC has opted not to proceed with sci-fi drama Triangle, starring The Brave’s Mike Vogel.
The pass by the Disney-owned broadcaster comes eight months after Triangle was ordered to pilot in January. A late international shoot in New Zealand and extensive post-production delayed the pickup decision until after the May upfronts.
“I want to wait and make a final decision when the editing of the show is completed and it has all special effects,” ABC programming chief Karey Burke told Deadline at TCA last month.
Written and executive produced by Jon Harmon Feldman and Sonny Postiglione (Knightfall), the show, from ABC Studios and Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz’s’s Random Hill posited the question: What if the Bermuda Triangle was not a watery grave in the middle of the ocean but a land lost in time that has...

ABC in May delayed a decision on its Bermuda Triangle-themed sci-fi drama Triangle, which was a late, international shoot, until the pilot was finished. The pilot starring Mike Vogel will be wrapping editing this weekend.
There had been speculation the project would not be going forward. But ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke is reserving judgment on its fate until she sees the final product. “I want to wait and make a final decision when the editing of the show is completed, and it has all special effects,” she told Deadline on Monday.
Another ABC hourlong pilot from this past cycle, Heart of Life, which was inspired by the John Mayer song, was not picked up to series in May but was put in redevelopment.
Ben Queen, who wrote the original pilot, has been paired with All American creator April Blair.
“Ben Queen and April Blair are doing a rewrite to the pilot that was shot,...

Matt Passmore, who you know from Satisfaction and The Glades, stars as a husband torn between two women and two worlds. He's not the greatest guy!
We had a chance to talk with Matt about his role in the movie, the joys of playing a troubled guy, and his ABC pilot, Triangle. Get all the details about those topics and more with our interview, below.
I have to tell you, it's so weird hearing your real voice. I never hear that here in America.
It's always a nice compliment, actually, when people ... they either take a step back, or they're like, "Wait, what?" Which is great, because if you can pick up that I was Australian from Australia, then I ain't doing my job very well. So it's always a nice feeling when someone goes, "Wait, what the hell?...

Every pilot season has one common thread in that a handful of the biggest frontrunners inevitably wind up being tossed aside. This year was no different as comedies with some of the season's most in-demand stars and new takes on beloved series all wound up filed under "passed over."
While there have been decisions on most pilots, a handful of high-profile projects — ABC's NYPD Blue update, John Mayer's Heart of Life, high-concept Triangle; CBS' Surveillance and Emperor of Malibu; The CW's Glamorous and The Lost Boys — remain in contention or are being ...
