One of the best season finales of the show, everything throughout the season caught up with LD and it was genius

Hell Yes

This season was overall good as always but it a little felt like more scripted than other seasons and it was 10 minutes longer and didn't seem like the old CYE but still very good and is still the best comedy show. This finale like every other finale was amazing. Something that is consistent with the show is that the finale is always the best episode in every season and they never let down.

Love the show, always have, but we need to see more of Vince Vaughn if there is another season. The guy is so naturally funny and a great actor!

S10: Solid season of the usual well-constructed situations and comedy
bob the moo16 August 2020
Much like season 9, the thread that runs through this season doesn't totally produce a satisfying conclusion, but it does allow for plenty of well-constructed farcical elements to be structured and delivered. I don't think all of it works as a natural flow in the way that the show does when it works best, but mostly it feels organic and natural. Of course it is exaggerated, because it always has been, but I can see the point when some critics say that some of it is pushed beyond this point, and that it just relies on the viewer going with it because the main character is always doing such things, so why not. A good example of this for me is 'gotta go' and related drama around that.

While the specifics of the stories don't always work, the delivery of them and the way they all slot together does continue to make for a great show. The connection of small things and actions usually all fall into place to make for a bigger joke or situation; usually you can see them coming in some form, but they are so well constructed and absurd that there is a certain 'oh no' pleasure in watching them come off. The performances sell it as ever. Larry David is great throughout, and I think he has kept his character consistent so that even as the show got bigger, and the situations got more exaggerated, who he is has stayed the same and grounded the show in the man. The support cast is consistently strong - the famous cameos are a nice touch and don't distract, but it is the series regulars that continue to deliver.

Season 10 won't win over people who have not enjoyed it to date, but it will provide plenty for fans to enjoy and it was good to have it back after the break.

Overall One can argue this was the best LD season
EvanKevelson24 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
LD standards for me personally is how often to I have to hit pause till I stop laughing. Personally seasons 1-8 were compared to any comedy historically phenomenal. According to LD standards most would agree that seasons 2 &3 didn't have a single week episode or week moments. I'm never giving LD a pass for season 9 which had two hysterical episodes the other eight fell flat on LD standards. But despite some bits being a bit overdrawn the mixture of cartoonish and shtick was so the incredible this season it was in Formula "Palestinian Chicken" & "Mr Softee". Would have loved to see more of a LD Ted Danson escalation. JB was on top of his game.. Suzy was the best since "The Doll's Head". Even Richard Lewis looking like the Crypt Keeper was phenomenal. Do I miss the funk of course it's not the same without him but Vince though brief was shined in those moments. From the opening scene breaking the millennial self phone pole for selfies to his shop going up because of a careless penis, it was for the most part nonstop laughs.

It's gold, Larry, gold!

The Spite Store had me in actual tears of laughter. Season ten was all in all absolutely brilliant. Refined, re-appearances from absolute favourites like Mocha Joe... sheer joy.

Season 10 - A great premise that sadly never quite delivers on its potential
Geekofriendly3 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Season 10 had arguably the strongest premise in years - the Spite Store was a hilarious proposition only our beloved A-hole Larry David could have come up with. The first episode therefore marked a very promising start and charted a clear course that was bound to be epic!

However, things unexpectedly turned for the worse. The writing of the show took a noticeable nosedive in some episodes and there was more cringe, more inconsistencies and incongruent characterisations than I ever expected to happily tolerate. Elaborate plot lines that went nowhere and failed to redeem themselves due to too many awkwardly bad jokes, minor side characters behaving in ways that raise suspicious eyebrows (e.g. two doctors fighting like little girls over Larry's second opinion for no clear reason), not enough of the regulars (Jeff seemed like he almost didn't want to be there and you can't really have too much of Leon. This season he's under-utilised even on the best of episodes).

There were some brilliant, BRILLIANT moments, especially the Spite Store going mainstream in the media, Larry's insane internal decoration ideas and all the celeb cameos. So overall, when the storyline kept the idea of the Spite Store front and centre it could do no wrong (because with an idea like that in the hands of Larry David, how could it). It was the moments where the writers incorporated unnecessary, far-fetched plots that I found myself wanting less of the redundant BS and more of LD at his purest.

Love love love

Great season and great finale. Disappointing to see the Funkman disappear without a word in this season (for obvious reasons, but nothing said in the show) and replaced by the not funny Vaughn. I have watched 10 seasons in a two months binge and now I miss Larry like he's a family member. Love.

The Spite Store
bobcobb30123 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There has been a lot of unnecessary stuntcasting and big name guest stars this season, but this was too much. The spite stores bits weren't even funny at all.

I am glad they had Larry lose in the end. I think it was needed to keep the show true, but I also hope if Curb comes back for Season 11 it reinvents itself.

This was just not the same kind of show. I did laugh at times in the finale, but it felt like they were forcing conflict whereas it used to come naturally.

Worst season and it's not close
packers-85 November 2020
As has been noted, this whole season was overly scripted with elaborate all-season set ups for minor laughs. And too many things were introduced for the sole purpose of playing a minor role in the plot and just ended up looking forced. As always the characters make it a good enough show, but this season didn't do it for me. It died on the vine
