- A young man infatuated with the 'vintage' phenomenon of romance is caught in an era of clinical matchmaking. But will his faith in the natural human expression of love reverse his world's engineered laws of genetic compatibility?
- The film opens with a lab sequence that vaguely implies the manipulation of DNA and lab cultures as we hear a conversation between a man and a woman. Conversation then appears to be coming from a romantic dinner scene in a restaurant. This is followed by a series of unsuccessful romantic dates. A central character, Victor, displays increasingly bizarre behavior in a sequence of fast-cut scenes that take place in the same restaurant. This exaggerated behavior becomes a dish best served cold when we realize that what we have just witnessed is actually close-circuit footage being analyzed by government officials of Human Genetic Harmony (HGH). We are then introduced to a corporate world of genetic 'harmonization' and institutional social engineering through lab sequences and a propaganda ad designed by the government system. Undercover "debugging-agent" Alice, is posing as waitress in a restaurant where coded love matches often go for romantic dinners or proposals. Her role is to serve as an anti-virus software to prevent natural evolution and deviance to the system. She exposes Victor as a threat to the system for displaying signs of attraction and intimacy towards her, despite her lacking a genetic love code that matches Victor's. Victor then discovers a mysterious hidden lab that exposes a greater secret behind the systematic elimination of natural love and free choice.
