A Brady List is a document which the prosecutor's office produces for the defendant's attorney during the discovery phase of trail, which clearly states exculpatory evidence which may exonerate their client, such as the credibility of a testifying officer, which stems from the 1963 decision of Brady v. State of Maryland before the U.S. Supreme Court.

During the mediation session, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) apologizes to plaintiff Larry Lynch (Zachary Mooren) saying, "I'm sorry that you got hurt." This is most likely a reference to Nathan Fillion's Canadian nationality regarding The Apology Act (Bill 108, 2009), which "is a law in the province of Ontario that provides apologies made by a person does not necessarily constitute an admission of guilt".
Gregg Henry previously worked with Nathan Fillion on Firefly (2002), and in James Gunn's Slither (2006). Gregg also guest starred in a second season episode of Castle (2009).
