Too similar to, and yet not as exciting as, The Wall. It's just missing something.

The endgame is disappointment
heatsink987 July 2019
The show is a little slow on the pacing. Dax does well enough. The end of each episode is the major bummer factor. The big reveal is whether or not the contestant's partner bailed out and screwed them on their winnings. So far, it's been big winnings turned into tiny winnings. It's the opposite of what an exciting game show should be.

High Stakes Entertainment

A larger-than-life wheel is the star of this show.

Host Dax Shepard guides the contestant through the game with an understated humor that feels more organic than the overhyped delivery of some other game show hosts. It's an enjoyable change, but the wheel is the star of this show.

The contestant---and there is only one at a time---has many opportunities to strategize during the game play. The contestants I have seen so far were enthusiastic, but not the overly-dramatic, attention-hungry narcissists that some game shows like to feature. Still, the wheel is the star of this show.

Part of the game is about trivia, but you will find five times as many questions on "Jeopardy!" The wheel is the star of this show, and the wheel is about chance and taking risks.

The contestant has to take sixteen spins of the wheel (which spins with random force). The spins are divided into four sections, with each section having its own procedures and strategies. As the game progresses, the amount of risk grows dramatically. You can lose it all in one spin or you can win millions.

Each contestant brings friends or family, one of whom plays a role in the final sections of the game. They help determine, in a big way, how much money the contestant wins.

I like the way the game varies from section to section, spin to spin. It has a complexity that keeps it interesting. And the potential payoffs are larger than most other game shows.

Random wheel??
concam272819 July 2019
Dax Shepard can't save this show...how can anyone trust a wheel that isn't based on the players' spin? The promise of 23 million in possible winnings is a farce. The mania is just irritating.

Pretty Much Sucks

Like a cheap knockoff of "The Wall" but much worse. The host is as exciting as watching paint dry. I don't see it lasting past a couple more episodes.

Lots of Fun
patricia9224321 June 2019
The show was lot of fun and made me root for the contestant. Trivia questions are always interesting, then add in the excitement of where the wheel is going to land makes it an all around enjoyable and different game show. Dax Shepherd did a fine job of host.

My only complaint was the camera moving around so much that it made it hard to watch. I assume this will be tweaked and taken care of it in the future.

I would recommend this program.

Great concept, BUT...
kaiwen5827 July 2019
WHY in the world does a GAME SHOW need promos for what is "coming up"??? It's a freaking GAME SHOW! Why would I want to have ANY IDEA what is going to happen later in the program? Deal or no Deal started doing this and it helped to kill the show. And what is with the slo-mo replay of a contestant urging on the wheel? I stopped watching "The Wall" because of this nonsense. I agree with many other reviewers that the end segment is hokey. The show is fine without the overproduction. Only game change I would make is to allow the contestant to actually spin the wheel or push a button/pull a plunger so they have some control. The touching of the wheel to make it go is suspect.

It's crap, here's why
NotMoreMovies19 July 2019
Just like the author of Maze Runner ripped of Hunger Games, so did Justin Timberlake watch "The Wall", he thought "hey, I can make a few changes to that games, and make myself a crapload of money. Here's why: trivia questions, the ability to both quickly win or lose tons of money, no true control over anything, and (the best part) lots of drama--in the form of "interesting" people and their families. TV today is getting so derivative that sometimes I wonder if this is real or possibly staged. I miss the old days with real game shows. There are only 2 games shows that I can swear today are still at least somewhat honest -- Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune...and even then sometimes I have my doubts.

Absolutely Love This Show
mlubeck29 June 2019
It's an interesting and intelligent show. The very handsome Dax Shepard is the host. I think Dax is the perfect host for this show..

This show is kind of a cross between Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and Deal or No Deal, my 3 favorite game shows all rolled into one satisfying, suspenseful thrill ride.

The producers really thought out the rules of the game in great detail. It's a very smart show. 10/10 stars. I love it and I want more!!!

Bland, seemingly scripted entertainment
JJLewis111 August 2019
It's really difficult to sit through an entire episode of the show. The concept mimics so many other shows that there isn't much to differentiate itself to spark your interest. A lot of it seems rehearsed and heavily influenced by production which takes away from genuine audience reactions. It's unfortunate that Justin Timberlake is the face of the show because this will not be one of his prouder accomplishments.

Slow - very slow
cekadah23 June 2019
Cut this show to 30 minutes and it will be fun.

As it is now it's a pettifogging bore.

Dax Shepard looked lost on stage. I think he knows when you become a game show host your acting career is on the down side of the curve.

The best rating I could give
grasswhisperer25 August 2019
I thought this was lame. Dax Shepard looks like he is bored to be there, at least half the time. Look at his eyes. They are blank. I didn't know about "The Wall" before seeing this but now I have and Chris Hardwick is the total opposite of Shepard. If they want to keep this show going (because they need the money-right?), they need a different host as Shepard totally bombed. I love game shows but I doubt I would come back for another season.

Would rather watch paint dry
NovaRobotics7 August 2019
Even as filler game shows go, this one is just plain lousy.

Extreeeemely slow paced, feels staged the whole way through, doubtful claims the wheel is truly randomized and doesn't slow down/stop based on how much drama the result will cause, absolutely useless deal-style walk away feature that's shown only to fill the last 5-10 minutes of forced sob story about ALL THE PRESSURE of sitting in a chair, being unable to see (but still hear the entire thing, mind you)

Yes, we usually don't think much of summer filler game shows; they're just mindless entertainment, but this mess has made for a L o n g summer

A Fun Show
DrMaxLaugh22 June 2019
This is pretty much wheel of fortune with trivia questions instead of puzzles, but it's still pretty entertaining.

Dax Shepard is fun, but I hate this show becuase of the following two words
hmb-517786 July 2019
Justin Timberlake.

I mean. WTW?

One of the most hated men in entertainment today is plastered all over the top of each episode.

Such a giant mistake.

Dax gets 10 stars. He's realaxed, he's relatable (though is suits are all terrible) but JT kills 8 stars.

Great show but Terrible Host
steve-7504316 August 2019
This show could be quite exciting if it had a great host such as Press Your Luck. Dax is boring and dull and has a poor attitude towards participants in the show.

It's basically Wheel of Fortune meets The Wall except it's paced really badly and it's not fun.

The spin isn't real!
swedlock-2875711 June 2020
I have only watched one episode, but I can't trust the wheel, so I won't be watching more. Why have a huge wheel that the producer of the show could stop anywhere he/she wants? Tough to watch a show that could easily be rigged. This ruined it for my and I won't be watching any more episodes.

Finally! A family friendly game show
joe-269720 July 2019
I am watching this with my kids and they really love it. As do I.

I am a big fan of Dax. He is great to watch on screen. He is perfect for this role.

Kinda feels like "Deal or No Deal" did in the early years.

Could this get stale if they don't stay ahead of the curve and liven it up over time? Sure. But a season or two as the game is should be fine.

I think they need to explain how the wheel is NOT fixed a bit more though. It can feel "fixed" based on how they show the wheel. But when reading up in the tech used I don't think it's really that fixed.

Anyways I for one like this game show. And can see myself watching it for a few years. It's intense and Dax is awesome.
