  Valerie : [whispering]  I'm gonna say something.

  Madison : [whispering]  No, don't... .

  Valerie : Hey! Hey, weirdo!

  Madison : Valerie, don't...

  Valerie : Is anything going to happen, or are we just going to sit here and get old?

  Madison : He's not going to answer you.

  Valerie : You know what? I am sick of this. I've been through a lot of kidnappings and this has got to be the most boring kidnapping situation I've ever been through and I've been through a lot of kidnapping situations.

  Madison : They're just trying to scare us.

  Valerie : [to the shark-headed sea monster]  Hey, are you going to threaten us or what?

  Valerie : [to Madison, when the sea monster doesn't respond]  You know, sea monsters are good for nothing.

  Ronan : We know why we're here. The sea monsters want to open the Well of Power so they can overthrow merfolk.

  Valerie : [rolling her eyes]  He could have at least untied us.

• [a hologram of Madison appears out of her magic mirror] 

  Madison : Will, if you are receiving this, we've been kidnapped by sea monsters. I left this message for you and only you because it's really important that I tell you this. I need you to *not* try to rescue me.

  Liam : Huh?

  Madison : I know that seems strange, but Valerie and I are exactly where we need to be. If you want to understand more, look up the aquatic library. The mirror can show you the location. I have no time to explain more. I love you, Will. Please... .

  [the hologram's transmission breaks off] 

  Liam : That bites, bro.

  Nat : Well, I guess they've got this one covered.

  Will : I'm going to the library.

• [Ronan prepares to swim out of the sea cave] 

  Ronan : Hop on over here, girls, unless you'd rather be dragged.

  [Madison and Valerie give each other a knowing smile and magically change their flukes into legs] 

  Ronan : Okay, where'd you pick up that little lovely trick?

  Madison : The Oceanic Senate gave us this power as a reward.

  Ronan : Yeah, of course they did. Society loves nothing more than rewarding the rich and the pretty, eh?
