  Nat : So, where are they?

  Will : I don't know, but we'll find them. We have to.

  [cut to a lonely sea cave where are Madison and Valerie are tied back-to-back] 

• Will : You didn't tell me about any sea cops.

  Beatrice : You should know by now that not outright lying is probably the best you can expect from me truth-wise.

• Will : What does this have to do with Madison?

  Beatrice : Madison and Valerie volunteered on behalf of the Oceanic Senate to negotiate terms with the group who has been messing with the magic. They met up on neutral ground to speak and that's the last anyone's heard of them. It appears, well, that they've been taken captive.

  Will : By who?

  [Beatrice pulls out her copy of "Sea Monsters: An Illustrated Encyclopedia" and points to a giant cephalopod] 

  Beatrice : They were banished to the deepest trenches thousands of years ago for trying to steal magic that rightfully belonged to the merfolk. They caused trouble every now and then, but meddling with the fabric of magic itself is bigger than anything they've done before.

  Liam : Whoa! Scary... .

  Beatrice : Scary indeed.

  Liam : How are they doing it?

  Beatrice : We think they've discovered the location of The Well of Power.

• Will : Now you said something bad happened to Madison and Valerie. What happened? What can we do?

  Beatrice : Well, you're clearly emotionally compromised, but I'll do my best to explain. Surely you've noticed some strange occurrences over the past few days?

  Liam : What are you talking about? Nothing strange has...

  [a whale suddenly lands on the hillside above the group starting a small landslide] 

  Beatrice : Things like this have been happening under the sea for weeks now and it's just starting to spread onto land.

• [Will and friends have received a message to meet Madison at the beach, but Beatrice swims out of the surf instead] 

  Will : Beatrice?

  Beatrice : Hi! Yes, it's me. Sorry, not your girlfriend. Also sorry for hijacking your sweetheart's magic walkie-talkie thingy, but something's gone horribly wrong. Madison and Valerie are in danger and I need your help.

  Will : Listen, Marie, I'm taking the rest of the day off, so just tell them I'll talk to them tomorrow.

  Mr. Hauser : Boy, how are you doing buddy boy? Saved the world yet, huh?
