The cops inventory the weapons from the Bromley Heath raid. The men captured have prior arrests. Ward and Rohr debate black and white, Roxbury and Charlestown. Rachel Benham arrives with a ballistics update, the 7.62mm fragment has not been matched to the seized AK-47. The team is discouraged but Jackie says not to tell the Grand Jury yet under the assumption the lab will come back with a positive match. Rachel shakes her head. Ward looks closer at one of the arrested and realizes he knows the young man.
Ward visits the man, Ziba Pippin, and tries to get him to turn, threatening 15 years in jail. Ward tells him he knows him from church and talks about Pippin's mother Delia. Ward is prepared to convict her for selling stolen articles from her food market job. Ziba goes silent then confirms a man named Hook sold the guns to Jensen the gas meter reader. Outside the room Jackie is impressed.
Cathy Ryan has her mother-in law Dottie over, they bicker about the hot water boiler repairs. Dottie has an attack of sorts and can't breathe. Frankie arrives at the hospital, his mom in ICU, his dad is explains she smokes and drinks too much, with high blood pressure and diabetes. With no insurance Richy is worried how to pay the medical bills now. Frankie says he can fix it.
Hook is interviewed but calmly demands a lawyer. Ward makes sure he sees the two men arrested for gun trafficking, Jensen and Pippin but the bar owner remains silent.
Frankie brings flowers for his mom, Jimmy comes shortly after with a beer under his jacket. Dottie likes the younger son. Frankie is exasperated and goes to phone his boss to change a work shift. The boss tells Frankie that Hook was arrested, Frankie thinks in silence. He tells Jimmy.
At dinner, Jenny Rohr happily reports getting an A+ on her Jung-Freud paper, mother Rosa toasts her, daughter Benny seems puzzled. The door bell rings repeatedly, Jackie goes to the door, his girl friend Yvette is there talking about the baby. Jenny brings the young lady inside then goes ballistic and kicks Jackie out of the house. Jackie goes to a nice hotel and shares a joke with the doorman.
Reporter Michaela Freda runs into Rachel in a hallway and tries to get the cop to talk. Rachel is hostile and refuses to help, and realizes Freda had a previous relationship with Jackie Rohr. In the squad room she explains to Hank Signa and Ward and removes her hoop earrings, too similar to the ones Freda wears. Signa thinks the other weapons in the raid may be from an Armory heist in Georgia, Ward decides to call ATF.
Jenny tries to talk with Benny but the daughter is upset and decides to live with Jackie when the parents divorce. Jenny blows up and tells her to go ahead.
Jackie invites Rosa to the hotel dining room, the mother-in-law is impressed. He wants to return home, plays the humble sorrowful act but she lays out her terms. She wants her drivers incense back, taken away for an accident, and more fine port wine.
Ward and Signa meet the local ATF Agent, the fed is afraid of leaks in Suffolk County and doesn't want to help, Ward threatens to go over his head pretending he knows the man's boss. The ATF guy agrees to help.
Rosa and Jenny share a wine, Rose starts suggesting it is better to let Jackie return and lists a number of reasons. Jenny is confused and can't decide.
Andre Benjamin, one of the lawyers on the Coalition comes to see Decourcy about Reverend Fields and Siobhan. Fields is bad mouthing Siobhan and calling her a liar. Ward thanks him.
The Ryan's are waiting outside surgery. Frankie and Jimmy start cursing each other loudly, Cathy cannot get them to stop, their dad shrugs having given up with them long ago.
The team brainstorms about the AK-47, Jackie thinks Vietnam as a source and sure enough Hook's brother was in the Marines.
Cathy gives Dottie a hairdo and makeup in recovery. They chat about being wives to criminals. Dottie explains how it started for them, they have to do whatever it takes, the money needed to survive.
Michaela Freda tries to see Hank Signa while he is playing basketball with his son in a park. They talk a bit, Freda wants to get Jackie Rohr into Walpole Prison.
Rev. Fields arrives at Ward's office. Fields stresses the rumors are not true but Ward stands behind Siobhan. The talk gets heated and Fields lands a punch on Ward's cheek, the ADA rubs his face and asks if Fields will try the other cheek. Fields leaves.
Jackie goes to a bar and introduces himself to Hook's brother Ralph, pretending to be a buddy of the bartender Hook. Jackie mentions he is a vet and the two begin to connect over Kahlua and Jack.
Siobhan comes home, angry with Decourcy for the incident with Fields, she doesn't want him solving her problems. She notices his bruised face and gets ice. He stresses she has to get Fields removed.
Jackie and Ralph Hook are in a drunken argument with others in the bar about a Bruins game years ago. A brawl erupts. Later Jackie gets his new buddy back to his flat. The man is in his cups, poor and depressed. Jackie mentions AK47s, Ralph sold one of those too, then gets suspicious and changes the subject. Jackie then goes to see the bartender Hook in jail, explaining he met the man's brother. Rohr will get the brother kicked off veterans benefits. Hook finally agrees to talk and requests his lawyer again.
A Truant Officer comes to see Jenny, Benny has not been in school for three days.
Jimmy calls his ex Corie, pleading for his mom to see her grandkids, he promises he won't be in a Boston when Corie arrives. She agrees if he sends tickets.
Jenny is frantic and goes to her daughter's friend Gail. Gail's mother is there mowing the lawn, angry with Jenny for raising Benny as a bad influence and for throwing her husband Jackie out of the house. The woman reveals Benny has been hanging around with a scummy guy.
Clay Roach shoots Benny up with a needle at his flophouse, she takes it in the arm willingly, then collapses on the floor mattress. Roach sighs and calls another guy to the room.
Siobhan tells the Coalition Board she will out the Reverend. The Board murmurs and don't seem to like the idea. Fields arrives, the room rises to face him.
Jackie is in Ward's office nursing his hangover. The meeting with Hook's lawyer is tomorrow. Jackie gets a call, Jenny reports she can't find Benny. Jackie puts out a BOLO right away to Dispatch, Ward offers help. Outside Michaela confronts Jackie who loudly tells her off.
Jimmy and Frankie open the medicine cabinet to see the cash, the pile is much smaller. Frankie agrees to steal something.
Jackie enters a high rise with an ambulance outside. The responders point him to Benny, partially nude passed out, he covers her with his coat, carrying her outside. In the hospital Jenny wonders who would do that to Benny, Jackie tells her to go on home, he'll stay. Jenny offers to let him come back home, but he has to sleep on the sofa. Alone in the chapel, Jackie has a smoke and curses a figure of Christ.
