Brave Show
chucko18220 June 2019
Its rare these days that a show is brave enough to poke fun at liberals. Actually SP rips on evryone. No one is safe.

I found this episode to be refreshing and funny.

PC Babies
eoval29 November 2018
I really don't need to say more. The Buddha Box part was totally realistic and completely reminds me of my "anxious" tech addict son, but the PC Babies' protests were so spot on that I was virtually in tears because I was laughing so hard.

It's nice to be back!

Well people, here I am reviewing again. Without my glasses, it's been too long since I've seen a movie in theaters. This episode features Cartman being diagnosed with anxiety. The very first scene of the episode is Cartman recapping what's been happening in the previous episodes. The shootings, ManBearPig, everything. I thought this would be a satire of Buddhism or Eastern religions.

It really wasn't. Well, maybe I'm not familiar with them enough to understand the jokes. The best part might be the "Muppet Babies" parody with the PC babies. I feel dumb for not checking for new episodes in the past month. The ending is surprisingly heartwarming. This was quite entertaining even if it wasn't one of the best episodes. ***1/2

Fantastic episode

This episode is definitely a classic South Park episode in modern times. The social commentary messages were informative and accurate. South Park is dominating this season as one of their best seasons of all time.

Snoozed through it

I waited two weeks for this episode only to find myself asleep before the first advert break. I've since watched the whole thing and I'm less than impressed.

As others have pointed out, it's centred around PC culture again, though I don't necessarily see that as the issue with the episode. Ten years ago, South Park would have ruthlessly annihilated the insane elements of the society we're living in today, but this show, along with everything else, has fallen victim to the sort of progression being referenced in this episode.

When it comes to this particular topic, Instead of ridiculing it, it's almost as if they're just affirming that these people exist.. They should either attack the issue or completely leave it alone, because glorifying these characters with arcs and excessive screen time in a non-demeaning fashion doesn't seem to interest many people.

I hate to say it, but as a longtime fan, I wouldn't mind if the show was to end after this season.

Sad....
bickertjames30 November 2018
It's really sad that a show that wasn't afraid to ridicule, insult, tear to pieces, anyone for any reason regardless of race, sex, orientation, etc.... has been reduced to this. It has become blatantly obvious that South Park is caving into the pressure to become more "PC" and in doing so has lost their edge. Trey and Matt are probably too afraid to be sued or to insult a single person to be funny, and to push the envelope any longer. They are phoning it in, and it is unfortunate. The hashtag that they are using #cancelsouthpark in an effort to try to be funny should unfortunately ring true at this point.

Actual anxiety is a real thing, and not a made-up PC crowd BS.
ivica-durenec2 December 2018
I get what this episode is trying to do. However, in an attempt to critisize people with made up mental ilnesses, plenty people won't understand it and end up talking bad things about people with actual anxiety and depression.

People that try their hardest every day and battle to do things everyone else does naturally. It's not because they're weak or because they want to victimize themselves. People that never lived throught it can't possibly understand it.

People like that don't openly say anything about it, they just try their best. And a lot of them will be alone and depressed their whole lives, and now they have to deal with hate speech, just because some npc's said they have anxiety when they really don't.

This theme really should be avoided. It just confuses people.

Boring and spreads a poor message
lewiscrandongriffiths1 December 2018
Yeah, it's south park and people using anxiety as an excuse for poor behavior is really damaging. But for those who suffer from it in a severe way it can take years of therapy and work to manage it. The fact that this episode doesn't touch on how bad it can be in the slightest is another form of mainstream media playing down serious issues people struggle through, because of a few who don't really have it.

Anxiety an excuse for being a total dick? Guess so!
Mork_the_Borg28 May 2020
Wow, what a fantastic episode! Very daring to portray society as it is quickly becoming, a society of severe mobile phone addicts and a society that finds an excuse for everything that's wrong with them although of course it's never their fault. People spending more than 8 hours a day watching a phone is simply weird and out of this world, and it's unlikely that 50% of the population all of a sudden has severe anxiety problems, so 'yes' an excuse to be lazy, lame and disconnect from society - well said! So, all of you out there, keep rating this episode as low as you want, but realize you're only doing that because South Park is showing you a mirror image you simply don't want to see or admit to. Again, love it to bits! Now, where's my phone?

Very annoying episode. Those babies just making everything even worse. First episodes of 22 season were awesome but now it's getting worse and worse.

Fallen.

God damn has South Park lost it. Complete and utter crap. They've obviously given up. Cancel it so Trey and Matt can get on with something good.
