Merritt Wever's performance is encapsulating to say the least, hats off to the writers for giving her character the most addictive dialogue that keeps you hooked till on Wever till the closing credits.

Actually my favourite episode so far!

Since Episode 1, I felt like the series had not been able to recapture the emotional level and impactful storytelling of that starting episode. Now though, I think it has finally been topped with the reactions of the detectives and relatives to the locating of the culprit and seeing Marie in counselling scenes. The key to quality in this show, in my opinion, is giving Marie more impactful moments.

Inacreditável (2019)

Series

1st Season

Episode Seven - Episódio Sete

When the script is very well written, even a simple dialogue about the film Zombieland becomes deep and philosophical.

Finally someone REALLY wanted to listen to Marie, that was what those incompetents had to do and not at first distrust, give up the case.

The cases that Duvall and Collette's character took on had the same amount of clues as Marie's case (that is, nothing), the most they had was a birthmark.

Just taking the last case they took, of that woman who is afraid of everything, is practically the same as Marie's case, there was no evidence, the woman had a difficult past and at no point did the investigators suspect that it was a lie.

I really want to see the bald investigator's face when he finds out he made a mistake.

And to think that if the criminal hadn't taken the photos, Marie would still be criminalized today.

When the Truth is Inconvenient, When the Truth does not please, they do not believe.

Episode seven of the first season of the Inacreditável Miniseries watched on May 2, 2024.

Awesome

Warning: Spoilers
Continuing my marathon and what a surprising episode. Marie's therapist is a sweet person, I'm glad someone finally listened to her and believed her. The difference in competence between the investigators in the Marie case and the Duvall case and Collette's character is surreal. Duvall had the same evidence (or lack thereof) as in Marie's case, the only difference would be the birthmark, which was what cleared one of the brothers. Okay, Marie's adoptive mothers hindered her case (a lot), but after that the investigator had several opportunities to redeem himself and investigate further. There were even calls from other police officers who noticed similarities in the Modus Operantis between the cases, but he opted for the easier and faster side. I believe that even if that girl (which was Duvall's case) had a mother who made Duvall disbelieve the girl, I believe that Duvall would continue investigating, differently from what the investigator in the Marie case did. What surprises me most is that the person who practically put Marie in this case was the criminal himself, if he hadn't taken photos of a child, the child would still be labeled a liar to this day. Episode seven watched on March 13, 2024.
