Fraud
kurtemmert25 October 2022
I watched this and then found out the she was a fraud. People Magazine, the UK Telegraph and the SF Chronicle all have articles that featuring her biological sisters stating that they are not Native Americans. There are no records from the Apaches that she was ever registered with the tribe. Her family is from Mexico. She is what is called a pretendian, that is a person who claims to be Native American but is not. There was research done and there was no Native American heritage in her family. All of her family, going back to 1880, identified as white and Mexican. It also appears that the stories of her violent and impoverished upbringing were also false.

NO DUE DILIGENCE!!

How can you make a documentary without doing the investigative work on Sacheen Littlefeather's background. This piece just peddles lies. Shame on the director and the producers. I would be interested in hearing the story on why this documentary had to be made and what was the compelling interest. Her terminal cancer of course is one reason. She trashed and perpetuated the lie about John Wayne's reaction to her Oscar speech, lied about her abusive dad, and then trashed the FBI for exposing the truth about her past. I would also be interested in hearing the director talk about his reaction to the news of Sacheen's fraud on so many people. Did he believe her story to be absolutely true or did he have any skepticism? Sacheen Littlefeather further hides her true identity by donning the noble robes of people with HIV, woman's rights, Indian causes, and causes taken on by Mother Teresa. We all want this story to be true, but the problem is, it isn't. This garbage makes people so turned off by what they see and read in the news. This show deserves a quiet death and an apology from the people that made this so called 'documentary'.
