After That ‘70s Show‘s Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for two counts of forcible rape, several of his sitcom co-stars spoke highly of the actor and prominent Scientologist. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were among the 50 people who wrote letters to the judge vouching for the character of the disgraced actor (and have since apologized in a social media video). Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, who played Kitty and Red on the show, respectively, also submitted letters on Masterson’s behalf. Masterson’s That ‘70s co-stars Topher Grace,...

Demi Lovato has revealed that the reason they re-adopted she/her pronouns in 2022 was because educating people on they/them pronouns became “absolutely exhausting.”
In a new interview with GQ Hype Spain, the 30-year-old singer, songwriter, and actor explained that they are comfortable with either she/her or they/them, but that using solely they/them grew to be too much of a burden at times. “I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with those pronouns,” they said. “It was absolutely exhausting. And that is one of the reasons that have led me to also feel comfortable with the feminine pronoun.”
Since first coming out as non-binary in 2021, Lovato has been one of many artists championing freedom of gender expression, but prevailing cultural norms make it an uphill battle. Beyond the obvious stressors of fame in a situation like that, Lovato explained that even everyday instances...

AMC Networks is scaling back on its programming and marketing spends starting this year, according to executive vice president and chief financial officer Patrick O’Connell. The exec took the stage Wednesday at the Gabelli Funds 15th Annual Media and Entertainment Symposium to address what the financial future of the company entails.
“So I think over the last couple of years — AMC, to a lesser degree, but the industry broadly — overspent on programming, overspent on marketing as well,” O’Connell said.
According to O’Connell, before the Covid-19 pandemic, AMC Network’s cash content spend averaged between $950 million and $1 billion. That increased to “about $1.35 billion” last year.
“We’ve made a commitment to take that back down to pre-pandemic levels. It’ll be closer to $1.1 billion this year, and we’ll likely float down even further closer to the $1 billion dollar range going forward,” O’Connell said. “We think that’s the...

A filmmaker focused on the experience of watching, Academy Award-nominated director Sam Green’s projects are best experienced live, previously with A Thousand Thoughts featuring Kronos Quartet and The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller featuring Yo La Tengo. His latest work, 32 Sounds, premiered at Sundance last year, featuring original music by Jd Samson and sound design from Mark Mangini. Now set for a theatrical release starting April 28, the first trailer has landed.
During its festival run in front of a live audience, the performance featured individual headphones for each audience member and included live narration by Green and live original music by Samson. In 2023, Netflix released the revival series, That ’90s Show. Nearly all of the That ’70s Show actors returned in cameo roles — except for Danny Masterson. The actor, who portrayed Steven Hyde in the comedy series, is undergoing a second trial for sexual assault claims.
Given the show’s focus on drugs and rebellious teenage acts, minor run-ins with the law likely wouldn’t bother its audience. But some of these aren’t your ordinary controversies. Masterson isn’t the only star from That ’70s Show who’s undergone a scandal.

Demi Lovato has revealed that her new track “Heaven” is based on the bible verse Matthew 5:30.
In an interview with Los Angeles Times, the 29-year-old singer – who recently updated her pronouns to she/her – said that in her new song “Heaven” from the album Holy Fvck, she sings of choosing pleasure over piety.

Kid Cudi has revealed that he suffered a stroke while in rehab back in 2016.
The 38-year-old rapper checked into rehab six years ago due to anxiety and depression, describing himself as “a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions every day of my life”.
In a Facebook post at the time, the Ohio-born rapper said that he has checked himself into rehab “for depression and suicidal urges”.
In a new interview with Esquire, Cudi recalled his past, saying: “Everything was f***ed.”
The rapper also revealed that his speech and movement were slow after the stroke, and his manager Cummings suggested that he needed a break from music.
After that incident, Cudi spent a few months in physical rehab and didn’t fully feel back on his feet until he read with Michael Cera for a role in a Broadway play about law enforcement, Lobby Hero.

Demi Lovato appears to be reflecting on the questionable aspects of her lengthy relationship with Wilmer Valderrama. On Wednesday, Lovato released her intense single, “29,” in which she sings about a 12-year age gap with an ex. On the track, Lovato sings, “Just five years a bleeder/Student and a teacher/Far from innocent/What the fuck’s consent?/Numbers told you not to...

When I think of the soundtrack to my year so far, I imagine Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lizzo. Harry Styles (‘Harry’s House’) has gigantic debut on Billboard 200, returns to number-one on Hot 100
Harry Styles‘s new album “Harry’s House” went straight to number-one in a debut that crushed the record for the biggest week for any album in 2022 so far. He achieved 521,500 equivalent album units based on album sales, individual track sales, and online streams. That’s 76 higher than the previous record of 295,000, set just last week by Kendrick Lamar‘s “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.” Read more about this week’s Billboard 200 here.
SEEBillboard Hot 100: Every #1 song of 2022
“Harry’s House” had the biggest week for an album since Adele‘s “30” launched last fall with more than 800,000 units. It also had the most traditional album sales since “30.” And it set a new record for the most vinyl sales in the modern era since tracking for that began in 1991. “House” also improved on the debut week for his last album “Fine Line” and the self-titled album before that.

One of our favorite fellows competing on “The Masked Singer” season 7 is disguised as the Prince. He wowed the crowd in his first appearance on April 20 with a rollicking rendition of “La Copa De La Vida” by Ricky Martin. It became clear quite quickly that this contender is a talented song and dance man. He returned on April 27 with another standout performance, this time with a cover of “Lay Me Down” by Sam Smith. And he earned his place in the May 18 final with a sensational version of “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder.
We didn’t get a lot of clues about the famous face hiding behind this mask but we think we saw and heard enough to know his real name. Keep reading for all “The Masked Singer” spoilers including the answer to the question, “Who is Prince”?
We think that the Prince is Cheyenne Jackson, the Broadway leading man turned TV actor.

Adele‘s “Easy on Me” spent 10 weeks at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It’s from arguably the best reviewed album of her career thus far, “30.” And Adele has already won Record of the Year at the Grammys twice before. So it makes sense that “Easy on Me” leads our early Grammy odds in that category. If it wins, Adele will set yet another new record for female artists. But this isn’t an open-and-shut case just yet.
SEEEarly Grammy odds for 2023: Adele leads in Album of the Year, followed by Silk Sonic, Harry Styles …
Adele previously won Record of the Year for “Rolling in the Deep” and “Hello.” A third win would tie her with Paul Simon and Bruno Mars as the most awarded recording artist in the history of the category, and she’d stand alone as the sole woman with three Roty trophies.

Few artists are embraced by the Grammys as quickly as Silk Sonic, though they are familiar faces to the Recording Academy. This superduo consists of 15-time Grammy winner Bruno Mars and eight-time Grammy winner Anderson .Paak, who are trying to bring back the sound of classic R&b. Mars and Paak both had had major success at the Grammys individually before the duo released their first collab single “Leave The Door Open,” which took home four Grammys this past ceremony including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. So with their whole album, “An Evening with Silk Sonic,” eligible for 2023, including the hit “Smokin Out The Window,” are we looking at another sweep from this dynamic duo?

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have lined up their next project together — they will star, co-write and produce a true story drama about how the multi-billion partnership between NBA legend Michael Jordan and Nike was born, with Amazon Studios and Skydance Sports co-producing.
Affleck, who will also direct the film, will play Nike co-founder Phil Knight while Damon will play the shoe company’s marketing chief Sonny Vacarro, who oversaw the deal with Jordan. Introduced in 1984 during Jordan’s rookie season with the Chicago Bulls, Nike’s Air Jordan sneakers became arguably the most iconic sneaker brand ever made and paved the way for the contemporary sneaker industry with athlete endorsements.
Vacarro’s quest to sign Jordan to what was then the third place shoe company takes him to Jordan’s parents, and in particular his powerful, dynamic mother, as well as to former coaches, advisors, friends and those close to Michael.

Kendrick Lamar is back after a long hiatus. He finally announced a release date for his upcoming new studio album “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.” It drops on May 13. It’s probably going to top the charts and earn myriad plaudits, assuming it’s on par with his previous work, but will it get him the one thing that has eluded him: the Grammy for Album of the Year?
Who knows at this point whether he even cares that much about the Grammys. In the five years since his last studio album, “Damn,” artists like Drake and The Weeknd have criticized and/or boycotted the awards due to sketchy voting practices and Recording Academy biases against Black artists, especially in hip-hop. But it’s nevertheless the most widely recognized award voted on by industry peers, and Lamar’s continued snubs in the all-genre general field categories have been emblematic...

The 2022 Grammys were just presented on April 3, and on April 12 we opened our predictions center for the 2023 Grammy nominations. Make your initial predictions for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year here.
Too soon, you say? Well, consider that the eligibility period for the 2023 Grammys started on October 1, 2021, which means we’re already more than halfway to this year’s deadline. A lot can happen between now and September 30, of course, but make no mistake that there are already Grammy stories brewing.
For instance, Grammy talk is always bound to start the moment Adele releases new music. She has won every Grammy she’s been nominated for in the past decade, and last fall she released her single “Easy on Me” and album “30,” both of which touch on the end of her marriage; her divorce from Simon Konecki was finalized in March 2021. The Face of Another: Lemercier Normalizes Weird Choices in Bizarre Biopic
Like something novel born out of a 30 Rock satire, French actor/director Valérie Lemercier delivers the confounding Aline, a fictional account of a life inspired by internationally acclaimed chanteuse, Celine Dion. Kudos to Lemercier, who stars as the titular Quebecois wunderkind from the age of a small child to her Las Vegas residency, managing, against the odds, to create a piece of fan fiction which dares to lean into banality.
Once one gets beyond some odd moments which could have veered into either unmitigated camp territory or the essence of nightmares, Lemercier settles into a sobering account of an incredibly talented young woman who is groomed from childhood to be a singing sensation, only quietly emerging with a sense of self after the death of her (much older) husband/manager.…...

In Season 1 of quick and witty sitcom Mr. Mayor, the utterly charming Ted Danson was a clueless newly elected Los Angeles mayor. As Season 2 begins, his Neil Bremer is running full steam ahead with plans to improve his city. Series creators and longtime collaborators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock (30 Rock) spin this zeal into comedy gold as everything that can go wrong with each new proposal does. Witness farcically inept Jayden (Bobby Moynihan) in a pink open-air stretch limo trying to drive visiting mayors to an event — in L.A. traffic. Even Neil’s daughter stalls his momentum by pulling him away to the Dmv so she can get her permit. The new “I” Team initiative injects a fresh, energetic dynamic as they scrap with the current staff. These pretentious consultants offer suggestions like trash cans bearing the mayor’s face (garbage goes in Neil’s mouth). If government has to be a mess,...

In conjunction with International Women’s Day, ESPN has revealed details about its month-long “Fifty/50” initiative celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX in June.
ESPN is programming a series of short and long-form documentaries directed and produced by women to commemorate the landmark federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in any educational institution that receives federal funding and gives women the equal opportunity to play.
“This is an important milestone for Title IX and we wanted to find creative ways to celebrate it across ESPN and the Walt Disney Company,” says Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, ESPN and Sports Content.
Debra OConnell, president of Networks for Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, called Fifty/50 a significant initiative for the company and its affiliates, adding, “the breadth of content is a reflection of the progress that has occurred over the last 50 years and how much more is still to be done.”

It was Maggie's 30th birthday on A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 10, and the surprise party had nothing on all the unexpected things to crop up along the way.
Anna recognized Gary as Peter's attacker and was okay with it. Eddie spotted Katherine making out with Greta, Tyrell returned, we got a glimpse of Danny and Charlie, and, oh yeah, Maggie pounced Gary in the elevator. It's her birthday, so she can cheat if she wants to, apparently.
It wasn't just Maggie's dirty 30, it was a messy Af one, too, but these are the type of installments that make you feel nostalgic. It's always a blast when everyone comes together for an event, and drama unfurls left and right like an ancient scroll.
But before we dive the rest, let's kick things off with Rome. He's struggling so much, and...
