- Nora West-Allen: As a kid, there was part of the Flash Museum that always scared me. I guess it's normal for children to be afraid of monsters. But this monster was different. No one knows where he came from, how he got his powers, who he is. All that's known is his alias, and the last sound his victims hear. But that's not what makes him scary. What makes him scary is... you can never catch him.
- Barry Allen: We never catch him?
- Nora West-Allen: Supergirl, the Legends, even the League tried, but no one was successful.
- Ralph Dibny: Probably he can dampen everybody's powers with that magic friggin' dagger.
- Caitlin Snow: Not all superhumans are meta-humans though. What about...
- Nora West-Allen: Green Arrow? Yeah, he tried too once, but...
- Cisco Ramon: So we're dealing with a meta-human Jack the Ripper. Amazing.
- Ralph Dibny: Well, okay, so I saved all these hostages and-and all that everybody can talk about is this picture, and got turned into a meme. And - and - it's - this - I just - I don't think that everybody takes me seriously.
- Caitlin Snow: Oh, there's 14 million people in this city. Only 500,000 have reposted this.
- Sherloque Wells: That's right, well, you're a detective. What - what have you solved recently?
- Ralph Dibny: Most recently? I uncovered the case of the stolen Chevy. Of Impala.
- Barry Allen: We need your help catching a meta-human serial killer.
- Herr Wells: Yeah, I have heard of this Cicada. Of course, got the message already from Kinder Flash. Unfortunately, I'm otherwise occupied, unable to assist you at this time.
- Nora West-Allen: You can't?
- Herr Wells: Nein. But, I have done one better and called someone who can. This man is a legend, this man is the greatest detective in all the Multiverse. So I've attached his coordinates if you want to look at them.
- Iris West-Allen: Okay.
- Herr Wells: Yah, do you see it?
- Iris West-Allen: Got 'em.
- Herr Wells: Good.
- Iris West-Allen: Cisco.
- Cisco Ramon: Cisco what? You want me to breach him here?
- Iris West-Allen: Yeah.
- Cisco Ramon: [shows his injured hands] Hello? I just got Benihana'd. Hurts a little bit.
- Iris West-Allen: Sorry.
- Cisco Ramon: Why don't we breach him the old-fashioned way?
- Sherloque Wells: The point's simply that there's no reason for Cicada of this Earth to be anyone other than David Hersch.
- Iris West-Allen: Well, there may be one reason.
- Sherloque Wells: What's that?
- Iris West-Allen: The timeline.
- Barry Allen: Yes, since Nora got here, things have changed a bit. Yeah.
- Sherloque Wells: Oh, mais no, you must- how can you not tell me this? How am I expected to operate when you don't give me the variables?
- Cisco Ramon: I don't know, but what we can expect is a refund, so...
- Barry Allen: Yeah.
- Sherloque Wells: Oh, no, no, no. That money is long gone.
- Cisco Ramon: What do you mean "it's gone"? You spent all that money in one day?
- Sherloque Wells: Right.
- Cisco Ramon: On what?
- Sherloque Wells: My ex-wife. Ex-wives. Seven marriages. Five wives. Lots of alimony.
- Iris West-Allen: Still swirling around up there?
- Barry Allen: I just don't get Nora. I mean, I thought our training was sinking in. I mean, she defeated Block, she was really making progress. And next thing you know, she wants to break into CCPD and kidnap a suspect in police custody. I mean, it's like she wants to... make Hersch Cicada.
- Iris West-Allen: Barry, you really don't get why she's obsessed?
- Barry Allen: Wait, should I?
- Iris West-Allen: Think about it. She's been hearing about the ripple effects on the timeline since she got here. And at first, they were relatively small, but now, Cicada...
- Barry Allen: Not so small.
- Iris West-Allen: He's one of the worst serial killers in history, and now because of Nora, he's here early. And an entirely different person.
- Barry Allen: With an entirely different set of victims.
- Iris West-Allen: That is a huge weight to bear for someone who just wanted to spend time with a dad she never knew. She feels really guilty, Barry. She wants to try to fix her mistakes, whatever that takes. Sounds like another speedster I know, actually.
- Cisco Ramon: So you thought you could leave to another Earth without paying us back?
- Sherloque Wells: Worked on my fourth wife and my sixth. Same woman.
- Cicada: Detective Joseph West.
- Joe West: What do you want?
- Cicada: To finish what I started. The meta-human called Vibe. Call him here now.
- Joe West: I can't. I don't even know him.
- [Cicada throws down photos of Joe and Vibe together]
- Cicada: You were saying?
- Joe West: Yes, I mean, he helps CCPD, but it's not like I have a Vibe phone so I can just call him up. He's just a masked do-gooder that shows up at crime scenes.
- Cicada: This could be a crime scene.
- Sherloque Wells: Mm. That's the stuff. And now we can begin.
- Caitlin Snow: Tea?
- Sherloque Wells: That's right.
- Caitlin Snow: We've been watching you for twenty minutes.
- Sherloque Wells: You're welcome.
- Ralph Dibny: Listen, Caitlin, I'm... I'm sorry.
- Caitlin Snow: For what?
- Ralph Dibny: For... all of this. Just, I... I felt like a complete joke after the hostage thing, and then Sherloque shows up and everybody swoons over his so-called "master detective-ness", and you were nice enough to invite me along, and... and I pushed you into that, and... I'm really sorry.
- Caitlin Snow: Ralph, this thing you pushed me into gave me something I've never had before.
- Ralph Dibny: Your first felony?
- Caitlin Snow: No. Closure. It may not be pretty, but I finally know the truth. And that means everything. So for my book, you're the best detective a girl could ask for.
- Joe West: He made these comments about family and cherishing them. And then the way he picked up Jenna's blanket, and I got this... feeling when I looked in his eyes.
- Iris West-Allen: What... what kind of feeling?
- Joe West: I think Cicada's a father.
- Caitlin Snow: I'm sorry we came all this way for no reason.
- Ralph Dibny: No, I'm impressed. Your mom is a really good liar.
- Caitlin Snow: Yeah. I know she forged this death certificate. I just... she's never gonna tell us why. We've hit a brick wall.
- Ralph Dibny: Ah, but where you see a wall, this detective sees a brick door with no handle.
- [she looks at him in confusion]
- Ralph Dibny: What I mean is, I know exactly how to get what we came for.
- Ralph Dibny: [using his powers to break into Caitlin's mother's company] Oh, my god.
- Caitlin Snow: What is it?
- Ralph Dibny: Lasers. Rooms filled with lasers! Holy snakies. Oh, my god. It's like a Rubik's Cube of pain.
- Barry Allen: I think I understand how you're feeling. Sometimes our powers are so extraordinary, it makes our mistakes feel amplified, especially guilt.
- Nora West-Allen: But I should feel guilty. I've never messed up this badly before, and I can't stop thinking about it.
- Barry Allen: That's just 'cause you care. It's okay, it's a good thing. But... Nora, if every time you make a mistake, you just rush in to fix it, you're only gonna make things worse. Trust me, I know that better than anyone. You just gotta have a little more patience. Take a moment, think before you act, fix the problem the right way.
