The show introduces viewers to the Osaka Shogi scene and the numerous people that are associated to it, including both established players and aspiring players. Despite her youth, the protagonist Ai Hinatsuru's talent is on display in the first episode. A story from the present day, The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! Is set in Osaka, Japan. It centers on the life of 16-year-old Ryuo champion Yaichi Kuzuryuu, a shogi player. Ai Hinatsuru, a 9-year-old elementary school student, approaches him with the intention of becoming his disciple. Yachi discovers Ai's special abilities and how they can bring fresh talent to the scene as they transition from master to trainee. As novices in competitive shogi as well as title holders, they confront particular difficulties. Along the journey, they run into a number of others who are all trying to get better in shogi, like Ginko Sora, Ai Yashajin, Keika, and Ika.

The main character of the anime is 16-year-old veteran shogi player Yaichi Kuzuryuu, who is voiced by Yuuma Uchida. Yaichi is the youngest player in history to win the coveted Ryuo title. Yaichi is renowned for his tolerance, understanding, and respect for everyone, including fellow players and unexpected gatecrashers. He was first shown to be nice, courteous, and attentive. He considers the sport to be sacred and despises individuals who treat their matches improperly or write it off as a game. Though he comes seem as unsure of himself, Yaichi is quick-witted and clever; he takes the time to thoroughly investigate opponents and devise counterstrategies. He is renowned for his unwavering commitment to treating opponents and the game with dignity. Although Yaichi has a gentle disposition, he is also wise enough to recognize his errors and grow from them.

The show centers on Yaichi, a shogi player who, as a result of his slump, had low self-esteem at first. But after getting to know Ai Hinatsuru and Ai Yashajin, Yaichi starts to concentrate more on training her to become a professional shogi player than on winning games. Yaichi is initially dubious about Ai, but as he observes her talent and desire to learn from him, his perception of her grows.

Yaichi's main motivation changes from hesitation to his will to mentor Ai and develop her into a professional shogi player. After initially being reluctant to be linked with Ai, he becomes proud to have someone as knowledgeable as her as a disciple.

A typical idea in many Asian countries, learning shogi with friends is emphasized in the entertaining and thought-provoking animation The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! The primary topics of the series center on the value of beginning training early, with entry-level participation occurring between the ages of 7 and 9. The primary idea is to develop friendships with other players in order to advance both personally and professionally. In order to learn shogi, one must make relationships with other players who have similar objectives. This social bonding facilitates skill improvement and the recognition of shortcomings.

Resignifying objectives
Cafelar18 April 2020
A complex and boring game for many is re-signified in this anime as something full of excitement and challenges. A construction very well made of objectives and characters.

It is worth watching and trying to understand this difficult game, especially for those who do not live in this culture.
