Dreamy and Exuberant

New York City, the city of a billion dreams and the city that never sleeps. The Big Apple everyone wants to take a bite, hoping to not get chewed by its magnificence. And also the main attraction here along with classy Robert Pattinson filmed in stylistic black-and-white, followed by 'All I Need' song by L'Orange and Jeremiah Jae, and life affirming titles popping in the city's buildings about how to live fully, intensively - they also got that famous James Dean quote about life as well.

Compared to the other campaigns by Dior, this one doesn't add much, it's more of the same. Worth seeing due to its appealing visuals, the city that reflects Dior's glamour and its magic; and the magnetic power of the company's face, Mr. Pattinson. Dior for Homme couldn't have picked a better man for the job: one that has presence, mystery, style, class, sex appeal and in the case of this ad doesn't need to showcase any acting techniques - though he is a good actor as evidenced by his film choices after "Twilight" stardom, with a focus to indie projects or working with David Cronenberg and Robert Eggers in daring artsy films. He's a man for all seasons. 8/10

Mildly stylish and very short Warning: Spoilers
"Dior: Dior Homme Intense City" is already a pretty long title for this really short clip we have here. Obviously, it is a little commercial by Dior to promote one of their more recent fragrances. This is from 2016 and the director is Frédéric Sofiyana, fitting name style-wise and he has only worked on one other movie before this one here and that is also a pretty long time ago. But I guess a film that runs for not even 50 seconds and is more of a city documentary than anything is not too challenging. There is not a plot in here, but the main reason why it is known, why people watch it and why it also has an imdb entry is the involvement of Robert Pattinson (not the first clip he made for Dior). I think he is a good actor as he has shown us several times post-Twilight, most of all on the Safdies' Good Time. So yeah, you see him in something that resembles mostly a photo shoot in here and if there is anything that stays in mind from the year when he turned 30, it is perhaps his uptown style clothes in here. Other than that, you see buildings, bridges, pigeons (or air rats as we call them here, even if the ones who are not entirely gray are more beautiful) etc. typical city stuff symbolizing the metropolitan feeling of New York. The song you hear is really not the most usual and blandest you could expect, but it fits kinda nicely because Pattinson is also not your 0815 run of the mill model guy, so okay choice, even if eventually nothing about this film stands out, not the visual side, not the song, not the general idea. And that comes from someone who is quite a bit into black-and-white photography. So overall, it is really just a commercial and honestly one that could be for a 100 other things than perfume, and also for another 100 other perfume brands. Skip it unless you really love the actor in here. Admittedly, with a runtime of considerably under a minute, the time wasting factor is not too much to worry about. Still, it is there!

Messy Editing

This was a missed opportunity. RP is not well utilised and the slogans feel cheap and lame. The editing is choppy.
