Woods have announced their new album Perennial, due September 15th on Woodsist, with the dual debut singles, “Between the Past” and “White Winter Melody.”
Recorded in the same Stinson Beach, California studio that yielded 2020’s Strange to Explain and produced by bandmates Jeremy Earl and Jarvis Taveniere, Perennial was partially inspired by Earl’s realization that “perennial plants and flowers are nature’s loops.” Along with Earl, Taveniere, and long-time members John Andrews and Kyle Forester, the album also features pedal steel work from Connor Gallaher. Pre-orders are ongoing.
Perennial boasts 11 tracks, led by the first two singles “Between the Past” and “White Winter Melody.” The paired release highlights the band’s mix of folk psychedelia and vocals-free constructions, with “White Winter Melody” representing one of the album’s four completely instrumental tracks. Stream both songs below.

In 2021, Eva Hamilton – whose acting credits include roles in Death Kiss and the upcoming Mutilator 2 – co-founded a production company called The Mooncats, with Stacey Nelkin of Halloween III: Season of the Witch on board as a creative executive. The first project to come from The Mooncats is the short horror film The Shed, and the company reports that they have signed a non-exclusive distribution deal with Cinedigm! As part of this deal, The Shed will be featured in the next season of Bloody Bites, a collection of horror shorts that are released through the Screambox streaming service.
Described as “a grounded, anchored and suspenseful tribute to the 35mm Horror Films of the late 1970s and early 1980s”, The Shed stars Hamilton and Nelkin. The story of the 22 minute short follows Whitney, a struggling escort, as she mitigates the emotional and financial toll of Adult Service work. After seeing an...

When Stan discovers a murderous creature has taken refuge inside his tool shed, he tries to battle the demon alone until Donmer (Cody Kostro) comes up with a far more sinister plan.
Part 976-Evil, part Fright Night, The Shed is something of a combination of old-school 80s monster horror and more modern “woke” horror, dealing with not only the effects having a vampire in your shed can have on your mental health but also how going to school with bullying assholes can effect your mental health too!
