This is basically the same movie as My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), one of my favorite movies ever. This follow the same plot but with horrible acting and horrible writing in spanish. Non of the class of the original. I dont recommend you watch it.

When you watch this movie it is difficult to not compare it with the original, (especially when even the English subtitles pay homage to it by subtly quoting the original instead of being faithful to what the actors are acutally saying) but that's one of the dangers of remakes. I wonder what someone who has not seen the original, would think of this movie. Of course if you love Julia, Michael, Kimberly and George, your first instinct will be to condemn and put down whoever dares to come into the picture with a remake of such a gem. And obviously, no one will ever come close in your book. My advice? Give it a try and enjoy the similarities but also the differences, a beautiful Ana Serradilla, the realistic Mexican background, Spanish slang and cursing, play together to make this a movie that holds its own by its own merit.
A good localized remake.

It's a good remake, the sad thing it's made with a Mexican hip soap opera vibe. Meaning it's good but it lacks that charismatic charm a quality adaptation should have in order to stand out.
Ana Serradilla's Julia comes close to having the charm the movie needs to make the movie stand. I mean, it's good acting, but never achieves hooking the audience to root for her. Carlos Ferro's Manuel it's plain and uncharming. Almost as he is there just because there's a Groom in the movie, so there he is. It leaves the audience wondering to what exactly Julia is so fascinated about him. Natasha Dupeyrón's Renata is the closest the remake acting comes close with the original. Even she lacks the Christmas lighting happiness & optimism her character must have to make her somewhat intolerable or the audience in order to root for Julia's cause. Miguel Ángel Silvestre's Jorge has it's good moments. But lacks the gayness the character needs. Gayness meaning the festive & playfulness of being, not the sexual orientation.
The adaptation is good. The best part that left me speechless that it was so unexpectantly good was the song chosen to substitute "Say a little prayer", Miguel Bose's "Amante Bandido" is the theme song I didn't know the movie was meant to have. From the Restaurant chanting to the charming "Not sex but a lot of dancing" finale. Those where of good quality.
The actors have shown their true value about acting in other jobs. So it comes to the bad direction made by Celso R. García. He is the one we need to held accountable for the movie floppiness.
