One of the more insidious forms of racism is racism that is patronizing and masquerading as something else.
I am a fan of Sergi Lopez and went into this film optimistic, but frankly it was a shallow experience and one where the condescension of the writers to the people of Senegal who simply serve as a props in a white person in the non-white world coming of age story.
