In this episode we have the mayor make a statement involving the death of a cop.
"Listen, anyone, especially a minority, being chased by the police would be afraid for their life."
Suddenly the cops are all upset and turning their backs on the mayor, the commissioner is upset, the cops are up in arms that the mayor dared imply that they aren't the perfect cops that this show loves to claim they are.
But here's the question: where is the lie? Where is the lie that cops kill unarmed, innocent people? How many cops have killed people this year alone? So far, at least 327. And how many of them are people who were innocent of any crime, just victims of cops with itchy trigger fingers? So again, where is the lie?
We get this followed shortly by a scene with ADA Reagan looking and talking down to her ex-husband and fellow attorney because he had the audacity to pick up a public defense case since it was his turn in the rotation. Because everybody deserves the right to due process and their day and court and adequate representation, except anyone who goes against the cops and the Reagans. They can just go rot in a cell like the worthless mutts they are, right?
I swear, with every episode this series becomes more and more unwatchable as the rhetoric becomes thicker and more unbelievable.
