What was really the point of this short film? The movie, if you're willing to lose 30 minutes of your life that you will never get back, seems to be about nothing or everything if you try to find or invent a sub text.

Is it a movie about doing stupid things like going into the sea at 7 PM in a place with strong currents? Is it a film? That's trying to make us feel the desperation of staring death in the face? Or is it a movie trying, unsuccessfully, to give us an idea of the trials and perils of migrant African refugees trying to row themselves to a better future?

I guess probably the only read that would make this even slightly interesting is if you invent a whole backstory to find some meaning where none seems to exist.

So this guy is at a party when a friend suggests that they should go for a ride in his boat, why we don't know. So they head to a rocky area where they jump into the water and start swimming to the boat when he gets caught up in a undertow and can't make it to the boat. Why he doesn't swim parallel with the current we don't know. Of course the buddy makes it to the boat but it won't start, why we don't know. The buddy decides to go to the shore and leave the "star" of the show, who's now freaking out. After swimming for a while I was ready to kill him myself, when a group of refugees pull up outta nowhere and start discussing whether they should leave or pull him in. (Please just leave him) but no they pull him in, when the boat runs out of gas and suddenly springs a leak. Oh and a pregnant lady is lost through this ordeal. Well the suddenly arrive at a beach with other people. The refugees take off and our Star breaks down crying.
