An okay time waster for a weekday afternoon while doing your paperwork
Ed-Shullivan21 November 2018
This is nothing special but I will give credit to the writers for some decent level of originality. The story is about a pretty mom named Agatha Sayers (played by Emmanuelle Vaugier) who is a writer of mystery/romance novels when all of a sudden her world turns upside down when someone takes the words from her written pages verbatim and kidnaps her daughter.

The suspense is void in this film but just like when you drive by a bad car accident.....everyone slows down and you just have to look at the carnage with your own two eyes. I knew this made for TV movie was not going to be good so no surprise there, and the ending.....well let's just say I won't remember this film for very long.

I give it a 5 out of 10 rating

Oh dear!

Warning: Spoilers
With all the ingredients for the makings of a decent movie, this still managed to fall a bit flat (and I have low expectations - am near-housebound, so more aware of 'lousy' than many).

Even with a fairly decent cast, the flat acting by acting-people that I've admired, the dreadful blonde wig (sorry, but I could never 'unsee' it, and it disturbed me!), the numerous 'coincidences'... and the ending explained nothing: how did they get away? Did the female detective apologise to her partner (dear knows that she needed to eat crow)? How did protagonist(a) & detective end up as a couple? Are they married?

But for the presence of Emmanuelle Vaugier (whom I generally enjoy) and the exemplary acting out of a loon by Jared Ager-Foster (Stephen), I'd give this film 'nul points' (a score well known by British watchers of the Eurovision song contest). But their efforts raise it to a 3.

Password: Do Or Die!!!
lavatch11 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"Killer Ending" was a convoluted meta-drama on the life of a mystery writer, Agatha Sayers. Agatha is in the process of completing a novel that is "intercepted" on a computer chip by a devious mastermind who kidnaps Agatha's daughter Sarah and intends to appropriate Agatha's work for her own. The action unfolds as the author is in the process of writing her new novel on her computer.

The pacing of the film was sluggish as Agatha's assistant, Caroline Villos, emerges as the devious sociopath seeking to steal Agatha's work and her identity. The kidnapping was extremely confusing with Caroline's son, Stephen, unsure about whether to take his orders from "Mother" or from Agatha. The hysterical young Sarah is constantly being tormented while in captivity by Stephen.

A crazed fan named Harmon Gillette is stalking Sarah and discovers the truth about Caroline. Yet Harmon's character was never fully fleshed out. The climactic scene in the warehouse was clumsy in failing to identify what finally happened that prevented Sarah from killing Agatha. Did the weirdo Harmon finally come to her rescue? Or did Detective Roger Smith break free of the handcuffs placed on him by his partner Emily?

One of our favorite actresses, Emmanuelle "Lifetime" Vaugier, plays the thankless role of Agatha. For the beleaguered author, there were so many distractions that she barely had time to write! But the film's biggest flaw was the failure to show how the lives of Agatha and Sarah were saved. Was this a problem in the editing room or the screenplay? The password to Agatha's computer, as devised by Caroline was "do or die." Due to sloppy production values, it turned out that the film died a slow death.

The worst movie I have ever seen, even for a crappy TV movie.
beanse8 September 2018
True story, I actually created an account just so I could leave a review! That's how bad this movie is. I actually created an account to leave a bad review!

Even for a bad TV movie, this thing hit an all time low. Bad acting, Gastly wig, horrible plot, bad twist ending, ridiculous keystone cop type figures, I mean wow! Who the heck was in charge of this thing? Save your time and watch something fun like paint drying on a wall.

The wig...
kristel_d2312 March 2020
Ms. Hobbs wig was so distracting, I was unable to concentrate on the rest of the movie. Turned it off after 30 or so minutes. So disgusted with wasting my time, wanted to share my mistake so the general public doesn't have to experience their eyes burning.

Acting , What Acting ?
carolynocean6 April 2021
I will keep this short , because all the reviews have said what there is to be said.

Both the script and the actors were absolutely attrocious ! ( and so was the wig ! )

Actually the plot was not a bad one, and had it been in the hands of different producers/director /writers it might have worked .

But the standard of each of those was so bad, it was bordering on comedy! Perhaps that is what this movie was meant to be and that I missed the point ? .............................

I wonder are Emmanuelle Vauyer and the rest of the cast still cringing with embarrassment ?

Absolutely awful movie
leechurchward6 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Oh my goodness. I don't know where to start. The acting in this is horrific. The plotline is weak with so many holes in it. It's actually beyond a joke. Even the actors in it can tell how bad it is and it shows on their faces. It is so obvious from the start what will happen, it's as though a 10 year-old has written it, how they do not suspect Caroline from the start is beyond me. I could write the longest review ever written about all the issues with this movie but I don't want to waste another second on it. Do not watch this movie.

Don't bother
lisahbabe30 January 2020
Don't even waste your time watching this movie. The acting is awful. What mother (parent) doesn't shed a tear or even look upset when they find out their daughter (child) has been kidnapped.

Calling wardrobe and makeup departments......
mja5818 July 2021
This was the usual LMN thriller with the usual twists and turns, leading to a not surprising ending....

However, as the other reviews have noted, the WIG seemed to steal the show....it should have been given cast credit!!!!

5/10.

Literally Gets Worse With Every Scene
talentest20 April 2024
With how terrible the outrageously overacting is, combined with the playground-level soap opera dialogue, and the ridiculous casting you'd think this were a self-aware parody. Except it's not. Or it's not meant to be.

THE CAST: You have a cast that all look about the same age playing middle-age parents to middle-age children, a hulking bodybuilder with long shaggy hair we're meant to believe is a college professor (who later turns into a special needs "Doofy" from "Scary Movie"), a captive daughter making the oddest facial expressions to display panic, a villainess who villains with the subtlety of a cartoon, and I guess Emmanuelle Vaugier doing what she can with what's given.

THE RIDICULOUSNESS: -- The pair of detectives who show up to work the missing daughter case are ALSO the detectives working the homicide case of the deaths in the film.

-- The daughter is abducted by an intruder who is already inside of her small dorm room AFTER she answers a knock at her door made by that same intruder.

-- The Doofy professor secretly photographs everyone WHILE standing out in the open.

-- Even the villainess blonde stands out in the open across the street of a diner the author & detective are in, staring as if she can hear their conversation.

-- The author thinks to coerce the kidnapper into moving her daughter to another location of her choosing (with a live feed camera set up identical to before).

I know this is melodrama so it is meant to be exaggerated heightened drama, but wow does this movie make no effort to be watchable.

Soooo very bad. Wasted 2 hrs.
danders998 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Unbelievably bad. I did exactly what the other reviewer did.. I created an account to to review how bad this movie was. I know actors have to start somewhere, but this movie was really really bad. Keystone cops comparison was exactly right. OK, the cop sees the assistant shoot an arrow at a bird. The same cop hears that the writer's attorney dies by arrow. The cop didn't put two and two together until a little later.. The mom was the worst actor of all. How can a mom watch her kidnapped daughter on live CCTV and show ZERO emotion? I mean she didn't even flinch. Wow! So bad. .

Dear God ????
adeans-631196 April 2019
I've watched some dross recently but nothing - NOTHING - has been as abysmal as this ?. I only watched it beacuse Emmanuelle Vaugier's in it, and seeing as I like her, I stupidly thought it might be semi-decent but boy, was I wrong !

The conclusion I came to after watching this is that Emmanuelle Vaugier desparately needs a new agent - one who DOESN'T hate her !

What?
kathmc-384436 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I watched on channel 5 + 1 so was anything missed out? No explanation that I could see/hear for how the actual 'not killing' of Agatha came about or how the detective lady realised Roger was innocent! Absolutely waste of time watching.

The 'Pretty Woman' wig was so distracting
CranberriAppl12 May 2021
On Lifetime, if something so distracting isn't explained to the audience, the villain is who you think it is. The wig on the character in question is SO BAD that it's obvious. It looks too big for the actress' head and it's shiny, like when heat touches material it shouldn't.

The overarching premise is fine with the book seemingly being played out, but this movie drags on. I am not one that turns my nose down to tv movies (major motion are mostly terrible also), but this is missing something. Emmanuelle is a good actress and I usually will watch her movies, but I got tired of waiting for her character to realize who she couldn't trust.
