How wonderful to get another Christmas episode of Father Brown, following on from last year's successful offering. With so many dark and gritty dramas on recently it was nice to have something fluffy, fun and thoroughly entertaining on, whilst also providing some mystery.
The plot was interesting, the delivery was light hearted, definitely fluffy, but hugely uplifting also. The cast were truly brilliant as always, Mark Williams a joy as ever, but I feel I have to sing the praises of Jack Deam, I've been critical of his Inspector Mallory in the past, but praise where it's due, I loved him in this, he showed some heart and a sense of humour, let's hope it's a sign of things to come.
The show definitely misses the wonderful Nancy Carroll, Lady Felicia and Mrs McCarthy make a great team, let's hope she's back soon. It was great to have Sid back though, I wonder if the regulars realised how popular the show would become.
Feel good viewing, what Christmas should be! Can't wait for the new series. 9/10
