Renaissance Festival For 3 Year Olds
stevendbeard9 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I saw The Siege of Robin Hood, starring Paul Allica-Sky Hunter, Kung Fu Yoga; Kahli Williams-Blood Hunt, Crestfallen; Dave Beamish-Riverdale_tv, Batwoman_tv and David Macrae-Nancy in Hell, Patient X.

This is a bad, bad, bad movie. It's written, produced and directed by Paul Allica, who also stars as Robin Hood. Paul plays Robin Hood in name only. This movie is not by any means historically accurate-maybe because it was filmed in Australia and they must not have our history books down under. Kahli plays a bar maid named Freyda-not Marianne-that joins Paul in his rebellion against David, the Sheriff of Nottingham. She is also the romantic interest to Paul. David kills the queen and becomes the king of England. Merlin the magician is Davids' brother. Dave plays Sir Lancelot, that also joins Pauls' merry group of parcour and martial arts specialists-lots of jumping and kicking going on here. Some of the wooden carts that are seen have car tires on them. Like I said, bad. It's like a Renaissance festival was putting on a play for 3 year olds.

It's rated R for bloody violence and has a running time of 2 hours.

I would not buy this on DVD or even rent it-the manager in my theater said a lot of people have walked out of the movie after 10 to 20 minutes-so if you really want to see it, I'd wait until it comes to your tv.

From the Saban universe: Power Ranger chop socky camp with ridiculous plot, grossly anachronistic story - but fun for kids if you don't take it seriously.
gadfeal10 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Although the Saban influence is in the amateurish script, variable quality of delivery (Robin mumbles quickly), and the appearance of Sir Lancelot and Merlin, 6th Century fictional Celtic characters, at the time of Robin Hood and King Richard Lionheart (around end of the 12th century) could only take place if Sir Lancelot were a time traveler!

Although childish in its two dimensional characters, it is too gory for the young ones.

Watch at your own risk
gargis-9132910 June 2022
When I saw the poster I got the vibe of Mad Max but how wrong I was, I knew once I started watching it.

Well, they did attempt to make it but too bad that it failed.

I hope they do better in the future.

LEGO Stop Motion would've fared better.
ckennp-210487 June 2022
12 minutes and 30 seconds in, I couldn't take anymore. Cringe, lame (that's just the first 10+min); what was the point of this video? I've seen parodies and fan-made videos on YouTube (not particularly about Robin Hood) that had better VFX, acting, transitions, jokes and filters. The trailer is the only "professional" product of this video project.

After seeing the settings in the first 12.5 min of this video, it seems that whatever money was spent on this, would've been more effective had it been invested in a LEGO stop motion video titled: "The Siege of Robin Hood" and uploaded on YouTube.

Speaking of Robin Hood on YouTube; copy and paste the following in the YouTube Search box, and select the first video to watch a proper telling of Robin Hood: eRz2UFPo9BQ.

Love B movies, this is a classic
john564778 June 2022
The set, costumes, everything is just B movie perfect.

I love that the cart taking the prisoners had car tyres.

That the horses lived in a stable built of concrete breeze blocks.

Only in 12 minutes, and am so excited by how bad it is.

EDIT: Finished the movie, am I the only one?

Actually, some of the fight scenes towards the end were not all that bad, seriously!

Plenty of fun, B-movie or not.

Even a Viking funeral at the end, I kid you not.

I tried to ignore reviews
kodylenzerkl8 June 2022
I attempted to ignore reviews but, jesus. First couple minutes in and you could tell how awful this film is. Actors are just bouncing around making random sounds not knowing where to even look. It's like a food lion brand Disney TV show.

Are you guys serious? I couldn't take it more than 15 minutes.

This is a Robin Hood version of Sharknado movies. Actually, Sharknado movies are much better.

What can I say? Aren't there minimum standards for quality control?

Anyone who sees this wonders who is waving through something like this since it's so incredibly poorly done.

Every cosplay meeting offers better costumes.

I think a child could do a better film
evo9008 June 2022
This whole movie was like a toddler made it. I actually think a toddler could probably make a better film if i'm being honest. Terrible acting, special FX, roll play etc...Made it about 20 minutes in before I couldn't take it any longer.

Every character is an NPC.
inyourfaceadam19 June 2022
I once saw a movie where the main character was s "rubber" tire that had more acting skills than this movie gave us with all the skills combined from all of the actors. This by far was the cheesiest, most cringe worthy movie I have had to admit that I watched. The only way I will admit to watching it is by way of absolute criticism as I am a rather well known and sought after movie critic in my circle of social followers. It's definitely not with paying for and i certainly would not waste any time watching these NPC's try to act.

An imperfect Robin Hood movie with heart
Stokes_Music17 June 2022
Okay, yes, I suppose rating this film an 8/10 is generous, but I think it's about time that independent filmmakers get a fair shake. After all, sometimes our beloved Hollywood filmmakers spend over $100 million dollars and still produce a turkey. This movie, on the other hand, immediately looked like something that some of my friends (my more talented friends, that is) shot with their cell phones at a Renaissance faire and edited on a MacBook, but you know what? It had heart. It was fun, funny, and had the spirit of adventure that Robin Hood stories should have.

Was it everything I ever wanted from a Robin Hood film? No, but did I waste two hours watching it? No! I had fun. It felt like an enthusiastic friend telling me a fun story. And, by the way, where did Robin Hood legends come from? They came from the common people, not the ridiculously rich people, such as our multimillion/billion dollar Hollywood elites.

And who am I to tell you this movie is a worthwhile watch? I'm not a filmmaker, but I do have one of the most ambitious webpages for Robin Hood film, TV, and video game reviews. I've also seen every film on the AFI top 100 and the revised list they published a decade later, and while this puts me still in the category of "film enthusiast", I still count myself as a self-proclaimed expert when it comes to Robin Hood films.

So, if you want a perfect film, bound to go down in the annals of film history, this isn't it. If you want a fun Robin Hood adventure, told by the common folk to the common folk, then cast off the guise of pretentious Hollywood film critic for a moment, and just enjoy the fun of watching this film, like a lowly commoner.

This movie's solid.
dingobeans12 June 2022
Look, considering the creators could've just done a Ned Kelly movie with the same themes and cast and probably had this one slipped into a cushy feature spot on SBS On Demand shows the actual level of passion and care they had for this project. Instead they got a few hundred of their LARP mates and booked out a castle and shot a Robin Hood story with gum trees and colorbond roofing as its backdrop.

And they pulled it off. The soundtrack's great, the cinematography is tight, and I'm incredibly impressed at the choreography behind so much of what's going on, especially the jousting scene. The acting's pretty good and the costumes are great. You can tell that everyone's having fun, but it's not at the detriment of professionalism. Cracker job.

What the creators have done is low key insane for an Australian production. Why does this exist? It has no right to. Please make another.

Rollicking fun romp of a film
paulmoder8 June 2022
Say what you will about the legion of Robin Hood depictions. Yes, like Batman, you could argue that they've been done to death, so the choice to lighten the tone with a fun, comedic (at times) martial arse-kicking, ambitious indie offering, is a sound one. I found that preferable to Crowe chewing the intense scenery in Ridley Scott's departure from the myth. Siege works because it doesn't take itself too seriously and offers enough action and heart to appeal to the less cynical of viewers. Paul can fight and carry the leading man gauntlet, and for the most part, the supports do well. Forgive any gaps in 'Hollywood quality' as this film was intended as an antidote to the grandiosity of more like minded, mega budgeted fare. A solid, promising debut.

This was so bad I gave up after the final Saban films acknowledgement at the beginning of the movie. No spoilers no reviews I just gave up because the first seven minutes were so awful.

A Primary School Production
thetroxof11 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is the worst written, directed, edited, acted and designed movie I've ever watched half of. The dialogue by the queen and Nottingham are laughable. The performances by most of what I can assume are novice improv actors and amateur theatre troops are some of the most cringeworthy efforts in film.

Filmed at what looks like a 2nd rate them park with Accessories assembled from thrift shops, painted cardboard as wall paneling, Phillips head screws in doors, modern guttering and for some reason everyone has dirt wiped on them. Cleary chainsawed trees and broken down pallets for structures and the worst CGI this side of amateur African films. Not to mention the magic that is the colour change of Nottinghams teeth going from perfectly white while killing Robins sister to diseased at the joust.

Do not watch this film. Ever. Not even if it's the only way to avoid the apocalypse. Just let the world end, it would be better for us all.

You are a better person than me if you got past the first 15 minutes
dprn-200495 December 2022
I saw the cover and thought I would give it a try. All I can say is the graphics on the cover are better than the 15 minutes of absolute drivel I forced myself to watch. Initially I thought the voices were dubbed as nothing seemed in sync. There is relentless music in the background which I assume was only there as a distraction to the terrible acting.

After the initial intro, I could only imagine that it was some kind of hazy dream and the real film would come out to play.

I gave it another 5 or 10 minutes hoping that it was going to improve but I was so wrong! This film is quite easily one of the worst films I've come across, along with "Going Overboard" by Adam Sandler (I like Adam Sandler films, but that was a shocker!)

This version of a Robin Hood film was staged badly, played by bad actors and I am still scratching my head as to how it could be R rated. The acting was on par with Monty Python, but atleast that was funny.

Save yourself the time and effort and don't bother watching. Life is too short to be exposing your eyes to cr*p like that.

Laugh or cry?
brucesteele-516846 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A film with a sheriff played by a twisted Shrek commanding keystone cops, an even more twisted queen from Once Upon A Time, and then Thor, a blond Zena, a kung foo fighter, Darth Vader swordsman, and then there is Merlin played by Oz, the man behind the curtain who is not what he seems. Oh, and a concept by Freud. The Sigmond Freud of the future. I could go on about other characters but viewers will draw their own conclusions.

Easily the worst Robin Hood movie imaginable
matthewflinders-7877931 December 2022
OMG I'm just embarrassed that this poor excuse for a movie was made in Australia.... Whoever made it needs to go back to stacking shelves at their local supermarket and do something useful. Terribly bad acting and stupid accents make it cringe worthy at best.

The worst mockery of a classic story.
dednirvz16 June 2022
Wow, it was just horrible. I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. I tried giving it a chance since you can immediately see that it's a smaller budget film and the story of Robin Hood is one of my favorites. I loved the Kevin Costner version and I've enjoyed several other versions. But this, this is absolute garbage. I hope the "actors" and crew all got paid before it came out.

Set to become an Australian indie cult classic
tyler-393721 July 2022
I was fortunate to have today been present at the Australian premier of this remarkable film including a Q&A with the cast a crew. Hearing their stories, laughing and cheering alongside them helped me to appreciate what an achievement this film is. Produced on a minimal budget with local talent, it is rare to find films of this nature in Australia.

Whilst it is certainly a medieval fantasy, it felt like a uniquely Australian film and at times like a Hong Kong action flick. Watch it if you enjoy any of these genres.

7 for one good actor!
melissapollie26 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The whole film is to cry for and i payed 6 euros for it so i watch it. But one actor who played his role very good and he got the 7 stars. That one actor is the guy who was at the duels to speak. I loved him. You know, that guy who never matters.

Oh and some of the landscapes. I dont know where this is filmed, but some of the landscapes are beautiful.

The rest of it is very poor. The actors, the filming. Pfff hard to watch.

But if this was a low budget movie. Than i liked it. It's hard t o make a movie with low budget.

I love Robin Hood, but this caracter is not Robin Hood.

I am not english so i hope you understand what i mean.

Power Rangers meets Robin Hood.
bigtimemoors10 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As cheap and Corny as Power Rangers was as a kid. I would love to see Saban do a Rated R version similar to this. Why is Sir Lancelot in the Robin hood story? He's from King Author. Why is the Moor wight with a Muslim head dress? Where are the Asiatic bounty hunters mention to get robin Hood. Why is there a fake Xena warrior princess that joins the Mary Men. Where is Maid Marian the entire film. Why do I have to type 600 words for a cheesy film like this? The reason I didn't put question marks on all my questions is because there's no need to answer. Robin Hood fans check it out. But it wholy sucks. Lol.

One of the best robin hoods
sydmwswy3 July 2022
After Michael Curtis' Robin Hood, which was very good but I didn't like it, I haven't seen such a good Robin Hood. Scott's Robin Hood was not bad either, but it was in another phase. I don't see any differences between the story and the film.
