One of the best comedies in recent mexican film history... which is not saying much, to be honest.

Warning: Spoilers
There are few words to describe this film. The first that comes to mind is cringe. The first half of the movie is extremely painful: Everyone is being extremely noisy and annoying for no other reason than to be extremely noisy and annoying. The second half is pretty good and actually funny, but not enough to cover for the horrible first half of the film.

The husband is an artist that seems extracted from the worst stereotypes of artist, the adolescent son is also an estereotypical emo son, Paz is the stereotypical abnegated wife, her sister is the stereotypical cat lady, her friend is the stereotypical braindead friend, her boss is a douchebag stereotype... once you see them in scene and their relationship with Paz, you know how they are going to act based on stereotypes. Not a single special character. At all. Most of the first half of the movie introduces them so slowly you are painfuly sure you know them in a quarter of the time that the movie dedicates to each one tops.

The story is pretty straightforward. Abnegated wife goes rogue after going to a shaman that tells her to say everything in her chest. Some surprises here and there, but you can predict in a general way what will happen with each character with an accuracy of 100% if you ever watched a mexican movie.

The cinemathography is actually pretty good. The shots are pretty well done in general, with some close ups too close up (you can actually distinguish the make up in some scenes) as an exception.

The music is nothing special, nor are the special effects, which look terribly fake, specially fire, smoke and vapor.

The moral of the story is nothing new, nor revolutionary, not even seen in a new light.

To round it up: A movie that is terrible for almost an hour, then it is pretty decent in the comedic area, but not in the story telling. Would I watch it again? For free. Would I reccomend it? only the second half.
