Okay doc on a lower watered down sequel.

"It's Getting Weirder! The Making of House II" is an okay and well done doc that gives info and insight about the making of the lower budget 1987 sequel. Mentioned is the work of the puppets, and how this film was more of a comedy and didn't take things as serious mentioned is the again "Friday the 13th" and "Cheers" connections. Interviews are again given with Sean S. Cunningham, Ethan Wiley, Harry Manfredini, and stunt man and Jason himself mister Kane Hoder! This time the characters of cast is introduced and interviewed from Arye Gross, Jonathan Stark, Lar Park Lincoln and mentioned and shown is the clip and short role that the now famous Bill Maher had! And the exotic beauty Devin Devasquez(former playmate) is interviewed about her role and mishap on the set!(she suffered a concussion!) Overall okay doc to watch still not as good as the first House doc as it went hand and hand as House II was not as good a movie as the original.

It's Getting Weirder! The Making of House II: The Second Story (2017)

*** (out of 4)

Entertaining documentary that covers the making of HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY, the follow-up to the 1985 hit film. Director Ethan Wiley, producer Sean S. Cunningham, actors Arye Gross, Lar Park Lincoln, Jonathan Stark and Devin DeVasquez, composer Harry Manfredini, stunt coordinator Kane Hodder and make-up artists Chris Walas, Mike Smithson and Hoyt Yeatman are on hand to discuss the making of the picture.

If you're a fan of the film then you'll certainly be happy with this documentary as it pretty much goes from the aftermath of the first movie, right into the original ideas of this one, its production and then the film getting released and not making as much money as the first film. There are plenty of very good stories told about the production of the film including some of the original road blocks put in front of the screenwriter including the fact that none of the original cast were going to come back because they would have wanted too much money. Another nice story comes from Hodder and how he got a bigger part in the film as well as how he and Lincoln would eventually work together again.
