I liked the movie for the most part. I like Jamie Luner. She is pretty regardless of her age. To me, this was another LMN movie with the law enforcement officer being as "dumb as a box of hammers" and the victim having to solve their own mystery or issue or problem. Those I'm tired of. The villain comes and goes at will. Law Enforcement does very little to check up on the "soldier". I'm still watching it as I type this and don't believe the guy was a soldier and I can't believe how frigging stupid the detective is!! It's good for watching once but keep in mind that's it follows the LMN mystery script.

No husband would...
rachelstuartwhite18 October 2022
The husband sitting there and hearing his wife slept with someone then hugging her and then calling the guy out for a liar then going home and saying I don't believe you (to wife) is true sometimes. However, not typical. Then look at all the blame on the military aspect on a younger male. He "latched onto something and that something was you"..."why don't you go take a bath with a nice glass of wine, no one will hurt you, okay?"...she does just so. This movie hurts men and women. Military men are predators and mentally unwell. Older housewives are victims to mentally ill young men. Husband's of housewife is obtuse because he must work. Let's put all the stereotypes in a movie. Ick.

I wasn't expecting the twist towards the end. Good acting, good storyline. It held my attention the entire time. Pretty darn good movie.

Get ready for a wild ride in this one. A woman works in a school;although, her position is never defined. A child tells her that the principal made advances. The principal comes to the person's home and puts a bullet in the wall killing her young son.

5 years passes and the woman goes on a lecture tour talking about life going on, despite the fact that she divorced her husband after the tragedy. At the lecture, she meets a young army veteran and they proceed to have a one-night stand. She wants to break it off when her ex-husband suddenly reappears and they reconcile.

The rejected army guy begins harassing her in the usual way that these things play out in these type of films.

The story is fast paced and exciting but the ending will shake you up. Go know that the army guy and the ex-husband were in cahoots all along. Very eerie, depressing, but there are plot twists even though the final twist is quite incredible.

Not bad

Some of the movie was predictable and some of it was not. For a tv movie it looks decent

Well written story and good acting.

Jamie Luner is a good actress so those Lifetime movies she stars in are usually good. This is one of the better Lifetime thrillers things come together and there are a few interesting yet believable twists that bring things together to a satisfying feel good ending.

A woman loses her son after a molester she is trying to expose inadvertently kills her son. Later as she makes a new life talking about her trauma she meets a young soldier suffering from PTSD and they have an affair. But when she tries to end it he doesn't want to. The things he does aren't the predictable Lifetime stalker things so it's quite fun to watch. Luckily things aren't as simple as they seem and things get quite exciting.

Keep watching to the end. It's a good one.

Great movie.....good twists

Acting was very good. Made you hate Conall. I figured the husband was involved but the way they unveiled it was surprising even to me. Jamie Luner was outstanding (although her speech to Conall near the end was somewhat over the top.) This is one of the better LMN movies.

Clever Scripting, Great Twists and Turns

Warning: Spoilers
There was excellent set of performances in this potboiler. But, above all, it was the imaginative screenwriting that made "A Lover Betrayed" a compelling view.

The shocking opening sequence sets the stage for high drama when a high school principal takes his own life in the home of the school colleague who is about to report him for abusing a student. The gun fires a couple of rounds into the ceiling, inadvertently taking the life of the young son of Tess and Rodger Simms. The entire drama unfolds from of that tragic incident.

After Tess and Rodger split following the death of their son, Tess publishes a bestselling book that tells her story. At the heart of the film is an ethical concern raised about that kind of personal self-revelation and how it might affect others.

One of the most intriguing character developments is that of a young soldier traumatized by war and who has a one-nighter with Tess. The troubled veteran has a sensitive side, as well as a diabolical one, as he ingeniously files a restraining order against Tess and wins the police detective to his side.

But does the soldier boy, who was a high school dropout, really have the brains to be such a mastermind? The final fifteen minutes of the film are some of the most compelling you will find in a Lifetime thriller. It is well worth the wait to sit through the melodrama and arrive at a head-turning ending that reveals who really is the betrayed lover.
