A very good fantasy foodie anime
Irishchatter12 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I tell ya in my personal opinon, this anime and Rokuhoudou are better then Food wars because they concentrate on each individual who visits the places personally as well as liking the food to themselves rather then ripping their clothes and making your cringy sounds while they eat the food. Yeah compare each foodie anime and you'll understand exactly what I mean folks.

I like the fact this anime gave us a mixture of Japanese and European food. Actually never seen European food ever appear on anime before so it was a nice surprise! I probably seen some Italian dishes in Food Wars but yeah let's sweep that under the carpet for now haha. The characters were great, I really liked the demon girl and the elf girl who worked with the chef. He'd be a great boss to work with if only there were many like him! Seriously kudos to Christopher R. Sabat, Jill Harris and Monica Rial for voicing them well!

This anime is totally for you foodie lovers to give it a try!

Restaurant to Another World
Tweekums26 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This anime series is set in the 'Western Restaurant Nekoya'. This is ostensibly an ordinary restaurant that serves both Western and Japanese cuisine during the week. However on Saturdays a door will appear is various mystical or alien realms that leads to the restaurant and those who find the way there can enjoy its delicious, but unpretentious, food. The clientele includes dragons, elves, beast men and other such creatures. It is run by an unnamed middle aged chef who, in the opening episode meets Aletta, a homeless demon girl, who has found one of the doors; he offers her a job and now she works as a waitress each Saturday. Later in the series they are joined by Kuro, a dragon who takes the form of a black-haired girl who communicates telepathically. Over the course of the series a variety of customers discover the restaurant and new interesting foods… occasionally arguing about which is the best.

This is one of those series where little really happens; each episode a new character or two seems to discover a door to the restaurant and be wowed by the food they are served… often one serving is not enough. They all seem to like the first thing they try and then wouldn't think of ordering something else which seems a little strange. This doesn't really matter as the food is just a way of showing us new characters and a little bit about their lives before they find the restaurant. The main cast, those who work at the restaurant, are likable and their guests are fairly interesting. Overall this is one of those gentle series that is pleasant while one watches but I suspect won't be remembered long after it has finished; still it is inoffensive and passes the time nicely… it might also make the viewer hungry.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

The Heartwarming Version of Food-Wars
Thehagengnome16 April 2019
This show was really a comfortable, heartwarming and sheer joyful experience. This anime was far from something that simply covered some different types of dishes, it really did create an atmosphere of how people enjoy food, and each other's company. It was a really pleasant journey and a wonderful anime that will no doubt make you feel warm as well as make you smile, while also showing you lots of delicious food.

A little biased
Mysterygeneration13 January 2024
To be honest, watching this show reminds me of my high school years, which marked the beginning of my golden age. Sadly, that was four years ago, and watching this show is the only way to remember those wonderful times. Since I believe that season 2 is the second coming of good things, having it throughout these pandemics is essential (IMO). That's all. Because this show holds great meaning for me, I will be a little biased and give it a high rating of 9 out of 10.

In comparison to the other anime, the art has been improved; what struck me was how smoothly the animation was done.

Have you ever become hungry due to the music and sound effects?

Restaurant to another World is a wonderful world of food and friends
sgeisse6926 September 2017
One of the strangest titles, yet still an outstanding series. Glimpse into a magical world of food and how it brings strangers together that would normally never cross paths. The characters are fantastic and they did a great job of writing in dishes of what you think they would eat. Great fun for the whole family.

So Chill
amiranda-3927422 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This anime is literally the chillest anime you will ever watch. Yes its also about food, and it all takes place in one restaurant. But there is a twist, this restaurant is able to travel to different worlds, with new and diverse patrons to come in and try the humble chefs delectable food. There are dragons, elves, monsters, dwarves, mermaids and even fairies, that all come to one place to enjoy simple but mouth watering food. The characters are incredible, and their stories of what brings them to the restaurant are very engaging. This is basically ratatouille if it was an anime. It captures that wholesome feeling of sitting with friends and enjoying a nice hot meal, forgetting about all your problems. If you need to take a break from reality, help yourself to this dish.

My most favorite anime of all time
pjdijkstra15 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If i would win the jackpot i would pay for a season 3 of this anime with full artistic freedom to the original creators.

I love light hearted feelgood atmosphere and the way each character loves their favorite dish.

How Alphonse remained sane during his 20 years of solitude on a deserted island because he 'only needed to wait 7 days for a 1000 times'. How the dragon of death finds a place to enjoy life. The immature love of the prince of the land of sand. Small light hearted stories with people discovering their favorite dish.

I've seen this series more than 5 times with my daughters now and will probably see it another 5 times. Absolutely love it.

It very good.
monthira-3053819 December 2023
It makes me excited every time I see what he's cooking for his customers. When he cooks food, it always makes me hungry. However, green curry must be eaten with khanom jeen, not steamed rice. I'm Thai. Actually, green curry can be eaten with steamed rice, but it's more delicious when eaten with khanom jeen. Everyone must try it.

I don't understand why this isn't popular even though it's fun. Another story that seems nonsensical in the harem style. Why is the same old style repeated? Why is it so popular? This story is very fun and new. But if it's less popular, there probably won't be a sequel. I'm very sad.

Worst isekai, Zero Focus
sisubalan8 August 2022
Yes, the worst isekai that i ever watched. Little to no focus on any main characters. Bad voice casting, weird character design, unintentive sound effects, weird storyline/plots. Forced myself to sit through all the episodes of 2 seasons. Glad it ended. Its really unwatchable and boring. Whats the point of showing flashbacks of every minor characters but not the main characters? Inexcusable, highly not recommended.
