Nanny's been a baaaaaaaahhhhhhd girl!
raven-sirius28 September 2018
Basically because Oleyssa Rulin walks on air. Her performance alone is the 5 stars. It would have been 10 stars but the writing was just lazy, predictable and basically everything you would expect. For me there were no surprises after the opening scene.

But Oleyssa. Almost makes me want to go out and get a married, have kids and work in a shitty office- just so she can come and be the nanny.

Good start, not so much ending
Bac_Hir2 February 2019
* A typical 1000 episodes Mexican series in 90 minutes movie. * The catfight at the end was unnecessary. * The plot twist at the end was unnecessary. * i enjoyed thr first 60 minutes.

It was ok
LaverneandShirleysucks12 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was ok but after 30 minutes in you can see what's coming a mile away. It's pretty easy to figure it out too by the way it was filmed because they purposely left out stuff that's meant to confuse the viewer as the movie went along. And the wife being angry at hubby for a past affair was a dead giveaway. Had they left that out, I probably wouldn't have seen the big "twist" coming and I don't think they should have revealed that bit of info so soon in the movie.

I did like the fight between the wife and nanny at the end. It was refreshing to see two women fighting like men rather that slapping and pulling hair like they normally do. The face punches they threw each other were quite entertaining. 7 stars.

Hated they made the wife so stupid.
hardinjudy24 June 2020
I hate when LMN make the wives clueless and simple minded. No way she never noticed how the husband was looking at the Nanny and then sex right there in her home and the story never allows the wife an opportunity to find out so she could beat the Hell out of them both. I hate that.

So many plot holes
israeljay7 December 2022
The Biggest and most annoying plot hole is when the wife went to confront the nanny's friend. After she left few seconds after she left, suddenly her clothes changed and she killed someone 😡. At the end of the movie I nearly threw my PC away. I mean I get the point they wanted to make it seem all mysterious till the point the wife confessed she was the one, but it was just dumb. I'm seeing a lot of good reviews which is weird, wondering if it's the same movie I watched because, what?. So many things were wrong and me trying to write them all out means me rewatching which is something I feel I can't put myself through again.

Clever story. Watch this to the end.
phd_travel14 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
At first it seems it's all been done before seductive nanny and husband who has cheated before. But there is more than the usual Lifetime formula here. Have the patience to watch this to the end. There are a unexpected twists that cleverly bring everything together. Worth a watch.

I went into this moving being a fan of lifetime movies but didn't expect anything special. I was very surprised by the end! It was one of the best lifetime movies I've seen in a while with an attractive and talented cast.

Pretty good for a lifetime movie

Warning: Spoilers
You think you've seen this before. Cute young nanny seduces cheating husband. Things start to fall apart. People start to die. However there is more to this one than meets the eye and the acting is pretty decent. Gotta watch this one to the end.

A Perfect Storm
lavatch12 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After Brian Simon had an adulterous affair, it was surprising that his wife Elise would want to hire a young, attractive nanny to serve as a live-in "au pair" in their home and care for their young son Cody. Of course, the philanderer Brian will succumb to temptation.

As they are hiring the nanny, Brian has a setback at work when the multi-million-dollar account he closed was assigned to his co-worker Vance Lipton. And at Elise's art gallery, an aggressive developer is applying muscle to buy her out in order to build condominiums. All of these factors combine for a perfect storm of murder and mayhem.

"Devious Nanny" was an especially well-crafted film with a crackling good story and a set of well-developed characters. One of the most intriguing was a character named Jax, the best friend of Amber Deschenel, the nanny hired by the Simons. Jax and Amber were orphans who bonded over a shared past growing up in foster homes. Jax appears to be Amber's "sponsor" in giving her advice in moments of crisis. In one of the film's most shocking scenes, Jax is surprised in her home and is murdered.

Plenty of the crises unfold as both Brian's co-worker Vance and the developer named Dutton are killed as well. While the evidence points on the surface to Amber as the culprit, the filmmakers devise a clever twist to pull the rug out from under the audience. Some excellent fight choreography is at the heart of the film's most dynamic physical confrontation at the end.

Can't understand the negative ( 5.7 ) review
amritanshdash28 September 2018
Well, i accept this aint a classic or blockbuster , but hey low budget flicks can also be a real deal sometime.

Only if you watch the movie leaving all the prejudices aside, i am sure you will be more then happy and craving for more once the movie is over. Had there been a well renowned face featuring in the movie, this could have been a sure shot hit.

Do watch the movie, specially the ending.

One of LMN's better moview
vbacon-111-57832913 December 2020
The acting and story are both interesting. The plot twist at the end is indeed quite good.

Olesya Rulin and Michelle Borth both play their roles well. Olesya deserves to move on to be a LMN regular or even better roles in the future.

steinmetzalyssa8 March 2022
Honestly I was watching and then started to get mad because the plot looked obvious. But it had a huge twist at the end & then a bigger one at the end. I mean I was shook & didn't see it all coming and I loved it Adding it to my list of favorite lifetime movies top 10.

Dark, Dangerous, Deadly, Murderous Mayhem!
paulgibson-2980613 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
If you are a fan of films featuring dark, dangerous, deadly and murderous mayhem then you won't have to look further than this cinematic triumph to get your fix.

In short, the thespians do great credit to a fantastic plot and script which will keep you both absorbed and guessing until the final credits roll.

I won't regurgitate the plot, as less discerning reviewers have done so already, but needless to say, you will be enthralled and entertained in equal measure.

All the actors are at their peak but especial mention must be made to Olesya Rulin as Amber, who, although appearing to come across as an innocent young girl who wants to look after young children, actually transpires to be a wanton strumpet who wants to seduce the father of the child she is the nanny to. That she manages to convince the viewing public that she is so innocent is a tour de force in itself and we can look forward to seeing such an accomplished actress in similarly demanding roles.

Michelle Borth is in typically top notch form as Elise and Antonio Cupo is perfect as the smarmy, silver-tongued, unfaithful cad who enjoys pumping iron in his garage and taking advantage of young girls who look after his son.

However, all the thespians on show are eclipsed by the performance of Michael Roark who is surely an actor destined to win an Oscar judged by his performance in this blockbusting celluloid triumph. Along with James Stewart, Cary Grant and Keanu Reeves, the man is an actor of huge stature and it beggars belief that he isn't a household name.

Jordan James Smith excels in his role as 'The Anchorman' and it's a crying shame that an actor with so much talent wasn't given enough time on the silver screen to really showcase his undoubted credentials... Let's hope that he gets the chance to rectify that in similarly demanding roles in the future.

In conclusion, this magnificent cinematic classic should act as a warning to all young, prospective au pairs to avoid unfaithful silver-tongued, iron-pumping old men who fancy a bit of extra-marital fun and to friends of wanton au pairs to beware knife-wielding psychopathic mothers who are married to unfaithful, silver-tongued, iron-pumping old men.

Hopefully a sequel is in the offing and a suitable title for such an anticipated masterpiece could be 'Devious Nanny... The Nanny Returns'.

Thoroughly recommended!
