Forgotten Adam & Eve drama worth reviving
lor_30 June 2017
Veteran Wesley Emerson made this quality Adam & Eve release from the turn of this century, unjustly subsequently lost in the shuffle - I just added it to IMDb where it was MIA for nearly 2 decades. Fans of quality Adult Cinema should seek it out.

One of the label's most enduring players Alexandra Silk stars as a woman who has dropped out of sight (like the video) years back, but who private eye Tyce Bune is searching for on a client's request. Chain- smoking, the laid-back leading actor of many a movie way back when is an acquired taste - I have generally been bored by him but Emerson uses him well as a low-key conduit to advancing the story (think in mainstream: William Atherton in "The Day of the Locust" for example).

Much of the film concerns a brothel run by Kelly Nichols, that great star of the early '80s Porno Chic era, who looks great and is acting in NonSex capacity by virtue of her successful later career as a makeup artist. Top talent is working for her there, including several stars bigger than Silk in the industry, like Chloe and Temptress, as well as the delightful actress Gwen Summers.

The suspense and private eye procedural content unfolds at a slow, measured pace, not unlike so many TV series back in the day, further supporting my long-held theory that the continuum between Adult and Mainstream is real, and that both types of films/TV should be viewed and held to the same standards. This is not an exciting or exceptional movie, but its craftsmanship and respect for the viewer, once a mainstay of Adam & Eve releases, is are to be applauded.
