A severe case where the film soundtrack song is more famous than the film in which appears. David Bowie and Pet Metheny partnership in "This is Not America" is a very
effective hit but the film where it plays "The Falcon and the Snowman" is a criminally underrated of the 1980's starring heavyweights Timothy Hutton and Sean Penn. As a
promoting both film and song, there was the nice music video which consists of presenting the most memorable scenes from John Schlesinger film. It works as an interesting and
curious trailer for those who haven't seen the movie and a nostalgic collage of images for those who have seen it. Unlike similar movie themed videos that expanded the concept of
soundtrack videos with artists performance or usage of the a film's thematic to create a dynamic clip (as the one for "A View to a Kill", released on the same year with Duran Duran
pretending to be spies on a mission), you don't have Bowie or Metheny in it except for the geniality of their sounds. But it works in any case. One of my favorite tracks of all time and also one of my favorite films as well, it doesn't get better than this. A quite perfect combination. 8/10.
