Channing Tatum has enjoyed a very successful career in Hollywood, with leading roles in dozens of hit movies. However, he is best known for the Magic Mike franchise, loosely based on his own past as a stripper. With the release of his brand-new film, Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Tatum is making the rounds and discussing how much the series means to him — and why he will always have a special place in his heart for the state of Florida, where he spent his formative years.

The current frontrunner to win the Best Score Oscar is Justin Hurwitz for “Babylon,” with 12 Gold Derby Experts predicting him, but I believe John Williams could surprise in this category for “The Fabelmans,” despite only having the support of two Experts: Sasha Stone (Awards Daily) and Susan King (Gold Derby). Williams’ nomination for “The Fabelmans” is his 53rd overall, which gives him the record for most Oscar bids for a living person; only Walt Disney has more with 59 total. Williams’ work in “The Fabelmans” has been celebrated by many critics, including Maria Lattila, who says in Why Now, “With a classic score from John Williams and precise direction from Spielberg, ‘The Fabelmans’ is one of the finest films about cinema itself.” Are we all underestimating the legendary composer’s chances to win? Here are my top five reasons.
1. He’s 91.
This might be the last chance the Academy gets to recognize John Williams again.

There are several amazing aspects to legendary composer John Williams’ nomination for an Academy Award the other day in Best Original Score for Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical “The Fabelmans,” and the numbers tell a remarkable story. Let’s take a deep dive into those – beginning with his age.
Williams is 90 years old, making him the oldest person ever to be nominated for a competitive Oscar. It breaks the record held by director Agnes Varda and screenwriter James Ivory, both of whom were 89 when they were nominated in 2018. But think about this for a moment. How many 90-year-olds do you know who are still operating at the top of their work game? How many 90-year-olds do you know who are still alive? Williams is still being honored with the highest tribute in his industry as he begins his 10th decade on the planet. It’s beyond remarkable. This is Williams’ 53rd Oscar nomination.

Replacing an actor is never easy. Even when it’s done well, people are going to notice. Michael Gambon slipped seamlessly into Richard Harris’s Dumbledore role (all that face-obscuring hair must have helped). Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Morpheus in The Matrix Resurrections put a fascinating spin on an old character. But more often, the change is jarring. The Witcher viewers aren’t exactly bating their breath for the recently announced protagonist switcheroo. So when it was confirmed yesterday that Justin Roiland would be replaced on Rick and Morty, it’s easy to understand why some of the show’s fans got twitchy.
Roiland’s departure is a significant one. As you might infer from the title, the hit Adult Swim sci-fi cartoon focuses primarily on two characters: genius scientist Rick and his nebbishy grandson Morty. Roiland voices both of them. He also served as co-creater on the series alongside Community’s Dan Harmon.

2022 is the year of Bad Bunny. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the Puerto Rican rapper’s success worldwide, especially this year. His fourth album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” debuted atop the Billboard 200 with career-best album units and has held the top spot for 10 weeks as of this writing, the most for any album this year. The album is on track to be the most consumed of the year in the US, and is already the biggest event in music across the globe, breaking streaming records. The album has also notched four top-10 hits in the US, including the top-five hits “Moscow Mule” and “Tití Me Preguntó.” With all of this success, what will the Grammys do with the Latin artist come nomination’s morning, and is there a chance for him to go all the way?

This review contains no spoilers and is based on all eight episodes of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season 2.
The stakes have changed with Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season 2, moving from the frantic “get off the island before the ferry leaves” pacing of the first season to a survival-oriented, mystery-solving season where the dinosaurs get some kinder treatment.
If you missed Season 1 but are familiar with the legacy of Jurassic Park, you are probably aware that the series revolves around a theme park with genetically engineered dinosaurs. If you’re familiar with the movie Jurassic World, Season 1 of Camp Cretaceous took place during the events of that film. Season 2 follows the aftermath of an escaped, experimental dinosaur hybrid, the Indominus rex, which terrorizes the island and forces the guests to flee. But not everyone made it off the island, we realize: the teenagers who’d been part of the first trial...

Saturday afternoon brought the unexpected and tragic news of the passing of Lynn Shelton, who died on Saturday morning at the age of 54. The cause of death, as shared by her creative and romantic partner Marc Maron, was an undiagnosed blood disorder.
A writer, director, producer, actor, and editor, Shelton was among the leading voices in independent cinema, breaking out of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival with “Humpday,” and most recently directing “Sword of Trust,” also starring Maron. However, Shelton also worked extensively in television, most recently helming four episodes of Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere,” and going behind the camera on episodes of such iconic series as “Mad Men,” “Glow,” “The Good Place,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” and “New Girl.”
Shelton’s film career began at the Slamdance Film Festival in 2006 with “We Go Way Back,” which earned the Grand Jury Prize, followed by “My Effortless Brilliance,” which premiered at SXSW in 2008. “Humpday,...

Marvel and DC are seen as the two main pillars of comic book movies with an interconnected universe and although they are seen as the two titans of the space, there is more than enough room for other comic book entities to make a name for themselves — and peeking its head around the corner and raising an eyebrow is Valiant Entertainment.
Over two years ago, Dan Mintz’s Dmg Entertainment took full control of the indie comics outfit Valiant Entertainment with over 2,000 characters in its library and now they are ready to disrupt the comic book cinematic universe in a space that has been occupied by Marvel and DC — and mostly dominated by the former.
“Disney is the Ibm of the entertainment industry…it’s just really big and very difficult to be,” Valiant boss Mintz told Deadline. They can’t stand on anti-establishment. They’re not raising the pirate flags,...

Regardless of what movies or stars you are rooting for at the Oscars, one thing is for certain: the annual telecast is almost always good for a milestone moment, a stirring speech, or a memorable mishap.
A Hollywood institution since 1929, the Academy Awards were first broadcast by radio the year after, and then made the move to TV in 1953. Almost from the start, the ceremony had its memorable moments, such as in 1934 when presenter Will Rogers inadvertently led Lady for a Day‘s Frank Capra to think had won Best Director and even head toward the stage, when in fact...
