Lunch Date is an interesting story about a woman's change of heart made in the United States in 1989. The film begins with a scene in which a woman tries to pass the time by eating a salad after bumping into a black man and missing the train she was about to board. She orders a salad, but when she leaves her seat, someone else is eating her salad. The woman is puzzled, but joins him at the table. I found the salad-eating scene very interesting and unexpected. She is suspicious of him but also competing with him, After they finished their salads, I watched the scene where the man bought coffee for her and himself to drink together and was confused as to why he acted that way. But at the end of the film, I realized that she had actually misunderstood and thought he had taken her salad, and at the same time, the man did not show any signs of anger at all, which I thought was kind. I felt objectively after watching this film that when something happens to us, we tend to unconsciously doubt others instead of ourselves. Also, I felt that the fact that the targets of suspicion in the film were black people showed some kind of discrimination. This film is worth watching as an opportunity to calm down and reflect on oneself without immediately suspecting others.
