I might have kept watching

"Welcome to My Life" is a little cartoon that runs for slightly under 9 minutes and this was released back in 2015 and here we have the first directorial effort by filmmaker Elizabeth Ito, who won an Emmy recently and for this project here she did not only voice-act herself, but also got family members to lend their voices to characters. The comedy here is mostly subtle, sobering and a bit on the awkward side. The subject is a monster boy, who goes to high school with normal teenagers, but honestly apart from his looks, he is really just like everybody else. I think Ito did a pretty nice job of showing here that during our college years, we all were aliens to some extent in just our very own ways I would say. And a lot of who the protagonist is also has to do with the way how he perceives himself. Overall, this was an entertaining little film and despite the solid ending I kinda wonder to what extent they were planning on turning this into a recurring series. Did not happen. Sadly I could say as judging from the premise and deliverty here in terms of both animation and story-telling, the outcome here was right up my alley and maybe I would have kept watching. Also always interested in a nice underdog story if it feels authentic and realistic that is and this one here does in my opinion. Overall, a nice modern cartoon on a solid subject with good execution from every perspective. Maybe no true greatness, but definitely good enough for me to recommend it to you if you like cartoons. See it.

Incredibly dull

Warning: Spoilers
I appreciate what the creator as going for but the character of T-kash was just very one note, he's this nice guy who people like even if he sometimes doesn't fit in. For a guy who's a monster in a regular world he's incredibly boring. Every character speaks like they've never talked to another human being, constant stuttering and pauses and drier than the sahara. Why do people like this guy? Show me his friends? I really don't care about t-kash by the time conflict arises. Even when the guy is provoked into a fight, the conflict lasts like two scenes. I wasn't really a fan of the animaton either, it looked very "corporate" or something, too simple. I love slice of life content, but it feels like an AI's interpretation of daily life.
