Warning: Spoilers
Angie, a little girl, is abducted, on her eighth birthday, by her grandfather. Grandpa is an ex-cop who went down for corruption. Many year ago, Grandpa had his daughter's boyfriend arrested and thrown into jail on a false charge, leading to the boy's murder by a fellow inmate.

The mother and a female cop friend kind of rescue Angie single handedly, without the cop calling for backup despite the cop being wounded by mad Grandpa, who also murders a colleague.

Very standard fare

The wacko is a homicidal grandfather. He is estimated from his daughter but grabs the granddaughter one day. Kelly Thiebaud is pretty as the determined mom trying to find her daughter. It's not too scary because grandpa won't hurt his grand daughter. Rather amusingly Angie doesn't hear anything because her headphones are on at all the crucial times. Gets lame towards the end.

Sometimes Father Does Not Know Best

As you can tell from the storyline, you're in for a bit of a distorted ride.

On one hand this movie doesn't come off as unfavourably as some people will critique it and on the other hand if you want to tear it to pieces then you're right but if you just take away some of the irrational holes within the plot and just enjoy the cast, the production and direction then it doesn't come off too badly.

So sit back, unbuckle your seat belt and enjoy the aspect of this movie.
