Colorful Videos from a Colorful Icon

Perhaps former Van Halen singer, at this time, 1985 having just left the group as lead singer, was too colorful for his own good, but he went with it, flowing to the breeze of an EP that had nothing to do with Rock N Roll or Heavy Metal, and still turned out a hit with Crazy from the Heat...

A lot of that had to do with the early MTV videos he produced and co-directed: remake of The Beach Boys' California Girls, which is, of course, full of pretty girls with David traipsing around singing to and about them...

And then Just A Gigolo, more of a story involved here as Diamond Dave, again walking across various sets and basically dive-bombing various popular acts from Billy Idol to Michael Jackson, while singing about...

Well, about the fact he was too colorful for his own good and was, as said, just going with it... and he did it with style and these are groundbreaking videos for that era, long gone and sorely missed.

The freedom back then, that Dave had and we all felt despite being caged in our homes with color TVs smaller than computer monitors...

Thanks Dave, for chasing away the meantime and killing boredom to have a little fun.
