Actress Sayani Gupta loves the culture and cuisine of Thailand. Thai cuisine, she adds, is so much more than what most people believe it to be.
"Thai cuisine is so much more than what most people think. A wide range of regional cuisines from north to south, makes it nearly impossible to cover but the real fun is in trying to taste (and devour) as much as you can," Sayani said.
"There is something truly extraordinary about waking up with the ocean at your doorstep. I couldn't have found a more peaceful, and breathtaking home in Koh Samui. Nothing beats uninterrupted views and pool access," added the actress.
During her recent Thai vacation, Sayani stayed in Airbnb properties.
"My home in Bangkok, was Zen central. It was a peaceful haven, amidst the city. Loved the minimalist design and soothing pallet - less is always more," she said.

In the annals of legendary sports rivalries, few are more fraught, complex and stomach-churning than the one between competitive eaters Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi. A new trailer for the film highlights Kobayashi’s remarkable eating career, during which he also held records for scarfing down meatballs, tacos, hamburgers and Twinkies.

The New York Indian Film Festival played host to several Shakespeare adaptations this year. Among them were Bornilla Chatterjee’s The Hungry and Abhaya Simha’s Paddayi, relatively direct transpositions of Titus Andronicus and Macbeth, though unassuming upland bullying drama Noblemen decided to use the Bard more obliquely: as a moral backdrop for its twisted tale. Set […]

The Lamentable Tragedy of Titus Andronicus is one of the harder-to-adapt Shakespeare plays. Its ultra-violence can border on self-parody if mishandled, and losing that element of the story leaves it somewhat limp. Even when juggled deftly, it’s simply grotesque. Though as with any transposition of the Bard to a modern setting – in this case, […]

After Julie Taymor’s 1999 bloodbath Titus with Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange, here comes an Indian adaptation of Shakespeare’s gorefest revenge play Titus Andronicus. Stately and gruesome, The Hungry occupies that same uneasy place between Greek tragedy, genre and art house. Setting aside the niceties of her romantic first feature Let’s Be Out, The Sun Is Shining, director Bornila Chatterjee follows a family of corrupt, evil characters from India’s ruling class as they indulge in tit-for-tat horror. Though over-the-top as political commentary, or maybe too obvious, it’s stylishly shot and nicely cast, forecasting a healthy fest run after its Toronto...

This year’s Toronto International Film Festival still is over a month from kicking off, but the starry annual event is pulling out zero stops when it comes to its first official slate announcement. The festival will close out with Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledo’s “C’est la vie!,” and the Special Presentations section will open with Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, “Lady Bird,” and close with Amr Salama’s “Sheikh Jackson.”
Today’s first glimpse of this year’s programing include a slew of 2017’s most anticipated features, including Guillermo del Toro’s adult fairy tale “The Shape of Water,” Alexander Payne’s Matt Damon-starring comedy “Downsizing,” Darren Aronofsky’s secretive “mother!,” George Clooney’s reportedly uber-violent “Suburbicon,” and Martin McDonagh’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
And that is just the tip of a very big iceberg, one that today includes the announcement of both Gala and Special Presentations titles.
