Netflix has promoted Carolina Leconte to the position of senior director of content at its Mexican outpost. She steps into Roberto Stopello’s shoes, who has ankled.
Leconte has been with Netflix since 2021 where she held the position of director, original series, Latin America and spearheaded such hit productions as the second season of Colombian show, “The Marked Heart,” one of the most popular non-English TV series on Netflix in 2022; the racy tale “Fake Profile,” which stayed in the global Top 10 ranking for non-English series for six weeks in 2023 and posted the biggest bow of any non-English series last year; and “Love After Music,” a series based on the career of Argentinian musician Fito Paéz, among many other shows.
She previously worked on such titles as “Luis Miguel- The Series” (Seasons 2 and 3), “42 Days of Darkness” and Season 2 of “Control Z.”

Netflix has promoted Carolina Leconte to replace Roberto Stopello.
She has been named Senior Director of Content at Netflix Latin America, and will oversee series and film in Mexico, while continuing to lead regional licensing and co-productions in Latin America.
This comes after we revealed Stopello was exiting Netflix Latam, where he was VP of Series in Latin America at Netflix. Deadline understands he plans to move back to the U.S. for family reasons.

May will satisfy “Stranger Things” fans everywhere as it delivers Netflix’s hotly-anticipated fourth season of the sci-fi thriller series hailing from the Duffer brothers. However, the streamer’s also getting rid of other shows — most notably, all six seasons of the Emmy-winning “Downton Abbey” and Seasons 1-3 of the Damon Wayans Jr.-starring sitcom “Happy Endings.”

Jesús Zavala (“Club de Cuervos”) and Sofía Espinosa (“Gloria”) have been tapped to lead the Spanish-language adaptation of NBCU’s hit series “Superstore.”
Titled “Supertitlán,” it will be co-directed by showrunner César Rodríguez (“Compañeros”) and Joserra Zúñiga (“Chumel”).
The English-language original, which reached 33.7 million viewers in its final season 6, was created by Justin Spitzer (“The Office”) and produced by Universal Television, in association with Spitzer Holding Company, Miller Green Broadcasting and The District.
“Supertitlán” is Universal Studio Group’s first co-production partnership in Mexico and its first Spanish-language title.

Sweden-based global distributor Eccho Rights has agreed an exclusive representation deal with Sony Pictures Television that includes 15 titles from all over the world.
The titles that are part of this deal are “Leverage” (South Korea), “Crane in the Sky,” “Midwives” (Russia), “Friday on My Mind,” “Love Child” (Australia), “Hugo El Comandante,” “Isa Tkm,” “Isa Tk+,” “Lady La Vendedora de Rosas,” “Los Caballeros Las Prefieren Brutas,” “Metastasis,” “Manual Para Galanes,” “Rosario Tijeras,” “La Guzman” (Colombia) and “Rosario Tijeras” (Mexico).

Madrid — Navarre shall be the wonder of the world. Again. The 2020 4th Conecta Fiction, a Europe-Latin American co-production forum which is Spain’s biggest TV industry event, will take place for the second year running in Pamplona, capital of the northern region of Navarre.
Next year’s event will run at the slightly later date of June 22-25.
The return to Navarre comes after an agreement between Inside Content, which is responsible for the design and the production of the event, and on one hand the Navarre government via Nicdo, Navarre’s Infrastructures, Culture, Sports and Leisure institution and Sodena, its business development entity, and on the other the Sgae Foundation.
The accord has been made with the collaboration of the Navarra Audiovisual Cluster (Clavna) and the Navarre Association of Producers and Audiovisual Professionals (Napar).
