Actor Ronan Darling was so filled with emotion during the filming of the komodo dragon scene he broke down in tears. Because of this he is no longer trusted as an actor and all of his parts now go to his twin brother Angus Darling.
The theatre features a newly designed Krix 8-channel surround system which allows sounds to be positioned precisely in relation to the curved screen to help fully immerse the viewer in the experience.
With over 80 VFX shots, the finished short film has more digital visual effects than the original feature film Jurassic Park.
During the main shoot, the production averaged around 1.5 TB of data per day. Even the 'low resolution' files for editing the film were a higher resolution than can be played on most cinema screens.
The scenic shots were achieved on a custom built 3-camera array known as 'The Trident' in a collaboration between the production company 'Main Course Films' and XM2 Aerial. This was flown on a specially modified octocopter drone flown by XM2 Aerial.
