The invitation read “dress code: Fashion,” and guests at the second annual Fashion Trust U.S. Awards didn’t disappoint – with Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Jessica Biel, Andra Day, Awkwafina, Heidi Klum, Janelle Monaé and Kelsea Ballerini showing up in head-turning looks.
“Get ready for a wild night,” host Zooey Deschanel improvised, as she waited for the starry crowd to take their seats inside the tented dinner held in the backyard of a sprawling Beverly Hills estate on Tuesday. The actress kept things moving with a series of lighthearted jokes between awards. “It’s clear the world needs fashion more than ever because without fashion, all the problems of the world would still exist but everyone would be naked and naked is boring.”

Start watching Citizen Weiner and you may find its subject, Zack Weiner, looks familiar. A brief opening montage provides a sampling of what’s to come in Daniel Robbins’ documentary: late-night talk show hosts cracking wise about something Weiner did, various people with shocked expressions, and a conveniently blurred video at the center of it all. Those who can recall 2021’s New York City Council election might remember Weiner as the primary candidate who had a Bdsm video of himself leaked to the press during. It’s a recent blink-and-you’ll-miss-it piece of pop-culture history, from a time when most of us stayed inside and online, and Citizen Weiner does little to make this part of the past worth revisiting.
Introductory interviews provide a bit of background. Weiner is a writer and actor who starred in Robbins’ past features, including the 2018 horror film called Pledge that Weiner co-wrote. With the...

With that date just three weeks away, a teaser trailer has arrived online to give a quick preview of the Halloween (or “Huluween”) event. You can watch it in the embed above.

Lisa Rinna is best known for playing the characters of Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives and Taylor McBride on Melrose Place… or at least she was, until she was featured on eight seasons of the reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. That may be what most viewers recognize her from these days. But Rinna recently left that Real Housewives show, and now Deadline reports that she has signed on to appear in an episode of the Hulu horror anthology series American Horror Stories.
The episode Rinna will be in is titled Tapeworm, and most of the filming of that episode was already completed before Deadline confirmed her involvement. That’s the only information that’s available at this time.

Where 2020's "Becky" is an underage child's fight for survival based on primal instincts, Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote's sequel "The Wrath of Becky" plays more like a comic book panel massacre. That's not a bad thing if you're into watching a Girl Scout assassin brutalize Proud Boys lookalikes with a smile on her face. Violence emphasizes excessive gore, real bad dudes get what's coming, and the action hero mold is flipped on its head with Becky front and center. Angel and Coote brighten the mood versus "Becky" and embrace the B-movie nature of Becky's somewhat unstoppable spree. Still, this time, there's less suspenseful impact by trading feral ferocity for this almost superhero nature that leans into Becky's franchise potential.
Lulu Wilson returns as a now older, now deadlier Becky, the survivor of an attack that left her father dead (Rip Joel McHale) and the Neo-Nazis responsible. After an...

Anna Chlumsky is on her sixth Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy nomination for playing Amy Brookheimer, the longtime loyal aide to Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), on HBO’s “Veep.” She’s been nominated for every season since the show’s sophomore run in 2013, but has yet to win. Can she finally cross the line with her episode submission, “Pledge”?
In the beginning of the episode, Amy is seen in the background as Selina addresses a rally and deals with debate prep. Several colleagues make comments about her pregnancy showing but are also unaware of the fact that she’s scheduled to have an abortion. Her sister is supposed to be her ride, but Amy’s hungover after sleeping with Dan (Reid Scott), so he ends up taking her to the clinic. As she’s about to enter the clinic, she’s confronted by several protesters pleading for her to consider her child’s life.

“What the **** are you?” asks an infuriated Tom James (Hugh Laurie) of Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) in his expletive-filled final scene in the series finale of “Veep.” Laurie, who joined the cast of the three-time Emmy-winning Best Comedy in the recurring role of former senator and Selina’s flame in the fourth season, plays a particularly prominent role in the final seven episodes of the show as one of Selina’s most formidable rivals for their party’s nomination for President.
Despite his increased presence in the farewell season, Gold Derby’s combined odds currently have Laurie far afield from a Comedy Supporting Actor nomination. Based on Laurie’s performance and his track record at the Emmys, though, we may be underestimating his prospects for a “Veep” farewell bid. Indeed, Laurie’s simultaneously charming, smug, and slimy performance as Tom is one of the many highlights of the show’s last batch of episodes,...

It’s hard to believe that Anna Chlumsky first became a star almost 30 years ago, when she shot to fame in 1991 as the lead character in “My Girl.” While she’s acted regularly since then (except for a six year sabbatical), she didn’t get another big role until 2012 when she began playing Amy Brookheimer on HBO’s political satire “Veep,” which concludes its final season on Sunday night. Over the past seven seasons Chlumsky has earned five consecutive Emmy nominations for Best Comedy Supporting Actress (2013-17), but has yet to win. Come this year’s Emmys, the TV academy should give her the proper recognition that has alluded her character for the show’s entirety.

Prior to Season 7, “Veep” dealt with Donald Trump offscreen instead of dealing with him onscreen. Executive producers David Mandel and Julia Louis-Dreyfus fielded repeated questions about how the 2016 election’s unexpected results would affect the political satire, and they repeatedly said, in short, it wouldn’t. It couldn’t. Not yet.
But now it can. This is the first season written after Trump was elected president, and the third episode of the season drills home one of “Veep’s” most prominent points about America under his tenure: Politicians may be awful, but the people are to blame.
It’s a pivotal choice and turning point for a series that’s always skewered our nation’s leaders before its citizens, so let’s look at the framing of “Pledge.” Directed by Morgan Sackett and written by Rachel Axler (both “Veep” veterans since Mandel’s team took over in 2016), the episode opens...

What at first seems like standard hazing takes a lethal left turn for a trio of unsuspecting friends looking to join a sorority in IFC Midnight's unsettling trailer for Pledge.
Directed by Daniel Robbins, Pledge stars Phillip Andre Botello, Zachary Byrd, Zachary Weiner, Joe Gallagher, Jean-Louis Droulers, Erica Boozer, Aaron Dalla Villa, Cameron Cowperthwaite, and Jesse Pimentel. IFC Midnight will release Pledge in theaters and on VOD on January 11th.

"Privilege comes with hard work." IFC Midnight has debuted the first official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Pledge, a much more horrifying take on the fraternity ritual of recruiting young university students. This premiered at Fantasia and Screamfest this year, and is hitting theaters at the beginning of January. Pledge is about a group of outcast college freshmen who decide to pledge an exclusive fraternity but soon realize there's more at stake than they could have ever imagined. The full cast includes Zachery Byrd, Aaron Dalla Villa, Zachary Weiner, Phillip Andre Botello, Cameron Cowperthwaite, Joe Gallagher, Jesse Pimentel, and Erica Boozer. I don't like fraternities much anyway, but this is taking the idea of hazing to the most extreme - literally turning it into a brutal cult horror film. Crazy frightening.
