Technical Problems with Subtitle Synchronization
zigzagtom2 January 2017
Estocolmo is an interesting Argentine series that focuses on the intricacies of human trafficking. It jumps around quite a bit - from "three years previously" to "three years later," and thus is often somewhat hard to follow. But, overall, it is entertaining. I would have rated it much higher had not the subtitle synchronization fallen apart in Episodes 11, 12, and 13. Basically (and I timed it) the subtitles were either a full minute ahead or behind the "live" voices. With short scenes, this became a real problem - to the point that I was quite confused toward the end. Fortunately, I downloaded it to play on PlayOn off of Netflix, and I was able to jump around, but toward the end I just gave up and tried to make a mental note of the prior scene as I saw the subtitle dialogue. Clearly, those involved in post-production deserve a very black mark, but Netflix also should bear some responsibility. (I'll apologize if someone else has a decent experience and my problem was the particular videos I downloaded from Netflix).

Entertaining but poor performance
cris_saenz-6951417 February 2018
I liked the idea of the series but the performance was quite bad, especially the actress who plays Isabel Santa Cruz. A cast with better actresses would make it a great show.

Teatrale

I think the only problem in this series is the teatrale acting of ms Benedetto. Theater is one thing and television is another.

Long winded

Could have been done in six episodes. Very slow moving. Actually thought the acting was quite good but very long winded. Not watching second series.

I would like to see another season

I liked the series a lot. I need subtitles but a bit of effort was well rewarded. I think the main plot was interesting and full of twists and surprises. Juana Viale has loads of charisma. The performance was quite OK but mind you the Spanish and Argentinian acting is different I would say a bit exaggerated.

A SERIES YOU CAN NOT MISS
delfinabraverman30 November 2022
"Estocolmo" has definitely surprised me in a brilliant and positive way. To begin with, it is a series that deals with a theme that reflects a global problem: human trafficking. I personally believe that having audiovisual projects that deal with these social issues is extremely important for our society that is constantly stimulated by these kind of projects. Opening a window for debate is crucial, and "Estocolmo" does so in a very creative and thrilling way.

The plot is consistent and eloquent, and combines successfully the different genres including drama, suspense and action creating a whole different dramatic experience.

A DRAMATIC MASTERPIECE
analopezz2 December 2022
"Estocolmo" is a series that clearly stands out. While watching the first episode I realized that it would be a dramatic masterpiece. It successfully blends together the different genres that make up the plot - drama, suspense, thriller - and it does so in an absolutely interesting and creative way.

It also has a clear objective, which would be that of telling a contemporary problem in Latin America: human trafficking, and its effect on media, politics and corruption. Through the plot, the characters manufacture their own relationships in a clever and sagacious way, so that the different themes that prosper in the plot are able to come about and expand.

A COMPLEX AND INTERESTING PLOT
timoteogarcia2 December 2022
"ESTOCOLMO". The series starring Juana Viale, Esteban Lamothe and Luciano Cáceres narrates the journalistic and police investigation regarding a people-trafficking network fused with intense and clever romantic components.

The plot involves a powerful and dynamic trio, intertwined by mysteries, blackmail and a clear romantic plot line that surrounds and molds them and their actions. It follows an interesting logic, where each character embodies a power, and therefore is linked to it or suffers from it.

I believe that an interesting point originated from the series' script is to make a point regarding the media and how it works with these important social cases of human-trafficking. It makes the spectators question themselves about the different content present in our daily basis.
