- Quotes
Kara Danvers: [seeing Mon-El dressed for work] It fits! It's perfect.
Mon-El: Yeah?
Kara Danvers: Yes. Now you just need glasses.
Mon-El: [putting on a pair of sunglasses] Oh, no, I, uh... I have got that covered, thank you.
Kara Danvers: [taking them off] No, no, no, no. Like real glasses, like mine. Well, they're not real, but they keep it so no one knows I'm Supergirl.
Mon-El: I'm pretty sure no one's gonna mistake me for Supergirl.

Cadmus
I think sometimes I take the fact that we have 4 DC superhero shows in consecutive days for granted. Supergirl is miles better than it was last year, but tonight had a few missteps that have become common ground for CW shows. But they didn't stop me from having another fun 60 minutes in National City tonight.
Cadmus finally took center stage as they provided weapons to a bunch of nobody's to wreak havoc on the city all while they publicly state that they are against mass destructive weapons. I've been waiting for this season to take a step forward in the villain department but the jury on Cadmus is definitely still out. The twist that the head of Cadmus is actually Lena Luthor's mother is interesting, and explains Lena's overall role this season, but I'm at a wait and see right now with Cadmus. I can't really say those thugs randomly shooting things did a whole lot to help their case.
Mon-El had another big night as he got a job at Catco and tried to put on the façade that Kara puts on every day, to mixed results. I am enjoying Kara's leadership arc with Mon-El (or mike) this season and this was another step towards Mike fitting into the bigger picture in National City. In fact, this episode dealt with plenty of people putting on a face or a mask for the public; James as The Guardian, Mon- El as Mike, and even Alex trying to hide her true feelings for Maggie. It was all very CW-ish, but for the most part, it worked.
I don't think I buy James transformation into a vigilante yet. I certainly don't buy the awful looking suit we saw in the photos released a few weeks ago, but CW has a history of pre-episode photos being misleading. I want to believe James' reasoning, like him trying to make his father proud or him saying he doesn't feel like he's making a difference as a lifelong sidekick, but I know how these things go. James is going to keep this from Kara, he will be a horrible vigilante for months, Kara will be upset, and in the end he will prove himself. If it's executed well then I'm sure I won't have an issue, but for now, I'm skeptical. I just can't stop thinking of how painful it was watching Arrow try and do this with Laurel in season 3.
Alex on the otherhand is quickly climbing up the ranks of my favorite characters in this show. She got caught as a plot device too many times last season but I'm loving her scenes with Maggie. I don't like many CW romances, but I'm all for Maggie and Alex, especially with the two's undeniable chemistry. So in all, it was another fun episode of Supergirl, even if the Cadmus stuff still reeks of throwaway villain material.
+Maggie & Alex
+Lena Luthor is always a welcome presence
+Kara's struggles as a leader
-Cadmus stuff is still boring
7.6/10
