Screened at the 18th Kerry Film Festival as part of WHAT CHILDREN SEE.
Shot on location in County Dublin and County Meath.
The title arose when John Andrew O'Rourke was developing the script in college. As Ritchie's backpack is a MacGuffin, O'Rourke wanted it to stand out and to look desirable in some way. A lecturer suggested making it a Manchester United backpack and ultimately linking the Grandmother to the football club in some way. Accordingly, the title became, "a True Red Devil", which was intentionally ambiguous. After the Manchester United idea was written out, the backpack got an urban camouflage design and the title became Little Devil.
Principal photography was completed in five days, with two days allocated for re-shoots.
All scenes in the Grandmother's house were filmed at Grove Gardens Estate in Co Meath.
